My children went to this school district, it was a terrible experience, my elementary student got bullies all the time from k4-5th grade, the school NEVER expelled any students for bullying, even though i made 3 separate police reports, nothing ever come of it. All they do is suspend students for bullying, which is what the bullying student is looking for because they don't want to be there anyway. I had many many many talks with the principle but the superintendent conveniently always had a meeting anytime i wanted to talk to him. Nothing amounted from my 3 police reports either, every time i called to check on them they would tell me it was under investigation (it has been 2yrs now). My other children who attended the middle and high schools did not get a quality education. For one, they NEVER had homework, I asked why at a parent teacher conference and the teacher told me that they have a no homework policy. My daughter went to school in the Wausau school district from k-8th grade, then went to Menominee Indian High from 9-12th grades, she NEVER had homework, nor did she learn anything new. We compared her test papers (she is sentimental like that and has a box where she keeps things like tests with an A) from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades to her tests from 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and the problems were the same. While in school she did state that she did this work already in middle school but was just told "then you should get a good grade then" by the teachers. I brought this concern up with her teachers and guidance counselor and they said that they would put her in a harder class, but of course nothing ever happened. I Strongly agree with "teacher march 30, 2008" everything he is saying is correct and matches my children's experiences at the school. My son almost got into a fight many times with other students because they were being disrespectful to the teachers and other students and my son told the disrespectful student to "give them a break, they are only trying to teach the class, and we are trying to listen". But my son says that students disrupt the classes all day long, every day and the teachers don't do anything about it. The disruptive students DO run the school, and that is why after 6 years took my children out of the Menominee Indian School District.
