5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience with the school they tend to place children in classes below what they should be in so that it looks like they're learning more than they actually are. Also if you have an incident where one child harms your child you have to make an appointment to see the principal to discuss it. Meanwhile during the follow-up days your child should be harmed further and further while you're waiting for the appointment to be made by the principal! All in all within the first 3 weeks of the school I have seen nothing but lazy from the administration and I'm talking about my grandchild in the school not even my actual child so I put four other children through schooling and I've never seen such a ridiculous place! I will admit his teacher seems very nice and like a very caring lady which is impressive nowadays in the school system.Parent Review1y ago5 Reviews - Port Huron High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHolland Woods is a school on the rise. In the past, I have heard some negative things, but recently all I hear from other parents and my child are how great the school is. The middle school age group can be very difficult but the staff seems to genuinely care. I am a big fan of the positive reward system they are using. My daughter has been able to go on multiple trips this year thanks to her good grades and behavior. It's nice to see that the good kids are recognized, instead of only hearing about how the bad kids are being punished. Overall, I would recommend Holland Woods before either of the other middle schools in the area.Parent Review3y ago6 Reviews - Woodrow Wilson Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe current principal Eagle is disrespectful to staff and students. She allows bulling and disrespectful behavior to occur in all grades. Students run and scream through the building all day long disrupting learning. The environment is very bad for learning /evident by the low test scores. Teachers are not allowed to enforce the basic rules unless they are a behavior intervention person or an administrator. There are no male teachers… they have been forced out by the current principal. Along with a high turn over of all staff. Low test scores say it all. The school went from a STEM School back to regular elementary format. If your child has a 504 or an IEP I would be checking that it is being followed. A lot of parents voicing concern that they are not receiving the services for their child. Overall bad experience since new administration took over! With very low test scores the administrator was recognized as one of the best in the district. What an embarrassing moment for port Huron schools- if that is the best they have to offer in that position! Our kids deserve better than that for school leadership.East shore academy is right next door. Your child deserves a better learning environment !Other Review1y ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near Dockside Dr.

"I see owners walk dogs throughout neighborhoods very often and they seem very welcome at local stores. There are also many good parks and several paved trails to walk. "

"the community events are mostly hectic and to busy to enjoy! and we are not in a community where we dont have to worry about our children being abducted or sold for trafficking. "

"I've lived in Port Huron all 26 years of my life. Everyone knows everyone which is a little annoying but all the cops live locally so its really hard to cause trouble and get away with it here. The scenery is beautiful."

"lots of elderly around here that have owned their homes for many years. most neighbors around here look out for each other and everyone's kids. never had an issue with my children playing here. "

"It’s relatively quiet. Neighbors are a bit overboard with the nosyness. Comes off stalkerish. Everyone’s a bit stand-offish . Kids play but it’s very limited . Could be a park a bit closer . People should obey the speed limit especially with kids all over."

"Great river walk. Dogs and people love it. See lots of boats and freighters go by. Walk to coffee shops and restaurants. Neighborhoods are quiet with lots of trees. People here are fun and quirky and gritty all at the same time. "

"there are more community events and support in this area than I have ever experienced anywhere, I couldn't possibly name all of the parades, art shows, music events, historical events, support groups, kids recreational activies, mixed in with nature, water, and city. There is a little bit of everything here and I love it here."

"Perfect size where it has everything you need but isn't too small or big. Right on the water so you have multiple beaches and the bridge to Canada. I go over to Canada maybe every other week for great sushi. Lots of good food in downtown Port Huron also."
