My grandchildren attended this school. First and second grade for my grandson were okay. He has loved going to school since starting church daycare school at age three. He enjoyed kindergarten, first grade and second grade at Walkertown Elementary. However this year (3rd grade) he hated going to school every day. He would beg to stay home. We finally figured out that the main problem was his teacher who was singling him out and constantly making him apologize to certain other students, for no reason. He was in the gifted program. But, this year he was constantly suppressed in class. The final straw was our granddaughter starting kindergarten there this year and, immediately, we noticed she was digressing in her learning and social skills. After attending Walkertown Elementary for a month, we withdrew them and started homeschooling. They are MUCH happier and are learning at a much faster pace.

"There isn't many things to do for fun here unless you travel 30 minutes. But for the most part people are nice & areas are well-kept. "

"It’s alright I suppose. No traffic here, just a few cars at traffic lights in the mornings. Neighborhood is kinda crappy though. "

"Lived here for 6 years and grew up here. Traffic is horrible in morning and evening traffic. Great little town but traffic is the biggest downfall"

"Very friendly neighborhood. Neighbors are very helpful. Always lend a helping hand. School, parks, market and other stores are near by. Having a vehicle is a must. "

"Some nice neighbor's, some not. Be sure to lock your car at night, people go through them. You need to be armed, several homes broken into during the day! Car haulers are a problem on Williston Rd, which you have to pull out onto, to get off Camellia . Motorcycles use this area as a speedway. Pulling out of Camellia, on to Williston is scary. I would not recommend if you have children!"
