The 5 star reviews for Penngrove were based on the old Principal that left. Unfortunately the new Principal, Carly Harp, from Rohnert Park Schools, is unqualified, and it shows. The front office staff doesn't even compare to previous years. They are untrained and too distracted with gossip instead of caring for the kids. There are some teachers that are good but under poor leadership shows. The kids that misbehave have no consequences and the other 80% are left to fend for themselves. If you have a child with behavioral issues this school may be the best option with how it is run. The school yard is a free for all and again under poor leadership shows. Too many children are now enrolled at Penngrove and Carly Harp plans to keep it that way. Staff is too concerned with making sure they cover their tracks. There is no accountability. Parents have to constantly fight for their kids. Many long standing families left the school. Go to another school!

"Not much traffic so dogs can roam on extended leash most of the time. Friendly neighbor dogs. Feed store with dog food and supplies nearby. Lots of boarding choices."

"it's small, historical and in beautiful sonoma county. its paradise. Penngrove is quiet and centrally located. we have fog and sun. wildlife iis abundant. it's the country and close to the ocean and mountains. camping is close by. many lakes within an hour. living in penngrove is easy"

"This is a quirky, "with-it" small town. Truck drivers and farmers mix with professionals and commuters to support Penngrove School, the local club house, and Penngrove Park -- privately owned by a home-grown non-profit. Great place to raise a family. "

" Private development of homes on acreage nestled among hils around a year-round pond fed by area creeks. 10-15 minutes to Sonoma State, Cotati and Rohnert Park shopping. Quick access to 101 via Petaluma Hill Road and/or Rohnert Park Expressway. This is a rural area where most residences have livestock. The roads are private with low traffic making walking and bicycling enjoyable. There is a multitude of wildlife."
