9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy family’s recent experience with Mill Creek High School raised serious concerns regarding fairness, transparency, and the treatment of minority students during disciplinary investigations. My son was publicly removed from class during a Chemistry exam, prevented from completing his test, and disciplined despite no direct evidence showing that he cheated, possessed leaked exam materials, or distributed answers. The allegation against him appears to have relied primarily on the accusation of another student who had already been caught cheating. What concerns me most is not only the lack of evidence, but also the way the matter was handled afterward. Requests for clarification and supporting documentation were not meaningfully addressed, which further undermined confidence in the process. These concerns are especially troubling in light of publicly documented disciplinary disparities involving minority students in Gwinnett County schools. Investigations by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Black students in Gwinnett County high schools were suspended at more than twice the rate of white students in recent school years.National and statewide research has also consistently identified racial disparities in school discipline. A U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights report found that Black students nationwide were suspended and expelled at significantly higher rates than white students. Research by scholars including Russell J. Skiba further concluded that minority students often receive harsher discipline for subjective offenses such as “defiance” or “disrespect.”Within Georgia, studies published by the Southern Poverty Law Center and Georgia Appleseed have similarly documented disproportionate disciplinary outcomes affecting Black students and the long-term academic harm associated with exclusionary discipline practices. As a parent, I encourage all families, especially minority families, to remain informed, engaged, and proactive regarding disciplinary matters affecting their children. Schools should ensure that investigations are evidence-based, impartial, transparent, and applied equally to all students.I sincerely hope the district carefully reviews both this incident and the broader concerns surrounding student discipline, due process, and equal treatment.Parent Review1mo ago29 Reviews - Frank N. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a student here, the principal (Dr. Callahan) is mad annoying bro. He makes it to where the learning is boring and repetitive. It's very annoying when on the morning news, like he does every morning, he says, "The teachers are here to teach and the students are here to learn". Like obviously, does he seriously think we didn't know that! He took away all the fun aspects of learning our old principal implemented and has been very lazy to actually make positive change in the school. He is overall js a terrible principal. That is why I don't recommend this school.Student Review1mo ago25 Reviews - Fort Daniel Elementary School

Parent Review3mo ago15 Reviews - Check out schools near Cordillo Dr.

"They would love living here there are other animal lovers everywhere and would not have to worry about it not being pet friendly. However, people are very particular about making sure you are cleaning up after yourself. "

"Some dog owners allow their dogs to run free through the neighborhood and treat the neighborhood as their own personal bathroom. Other neighbors are very diligent about having their dogs on leashes and picking up after them. It’s truly half and half."
