Bonjour, j'ai adoré fréquenter la Livingston Academy et je serai toujours reconnaissant pour les souvenirs que j'ai.

I'm gonna divide this into sections but I'm a graduating 8th grade student for context. 1. Learning + educationTeaching is somewhat effective but the teachers just let the curriculum and papers do the work. 2. Teachersthere are many incredibly nice teachers who deserve more praise than they get, but all the rest are either on a power trip or are plain unstable. The math/social studies teacher is a nice person but doesn't understand her own material, and one of the teachers aids is very pushy and gets triggered by the phrase "silly goose". He also blocked us off our deltamath homework once when we had a substitute. The principal is also not great. He purposely try and trigger my PTSD as a joke (I have it on file and accommodations)3. Social emotional support There's not much but Ms Tebo is a great counselor and makes up for it. She's awesome 4. Special EdI'm not in SPED but the SPED teachers are quite rude, the previously mentioned teacher who gets triggered by the phrase "silly goose" is the head of special education according to the LMS website. One special education student has escaped the building on multiple occasions and my friend has literally had to hold the door so they wouldnt run off. Likely negligent.5. SafetyThere's a cop and we have drills but the safety here is pretty bad. I've seen multiple fights and one girl got in a fight after leaving the bus and the bus driver just drove away and it was never reported. My bus driver ran over a dog and drives recklessly. And finally, the education on safety is awful. A judge guy came to our school for an anti drug assembly and literally explained where and how to get drugs. A teacher also threatened to paddle me because I asked a question. May have been a joke but still unprofessional. 6. Family engagement Parent teacher conferences are good, but the school doesn't tell parents anything that happens and kids are just left with the responsibility of bringing discipline slips home.There are a few positives for example I've made lots of friends but it's an objectively bad school.

Great school! The teachers there are great for the most part. You can always find a few at every school. The only issue with Rickman is it is so great everyone knows about it and sends their kids there. The county has no zoning, so people bypass all the other closer schools in the county and send their kids there. We even get kids from outside of the county that come. Rickman is a great school but because of this issue the classrooms have too many kids per teacher, and it is overcrowded. I can't brag on this school enough but due to overcrowding I would consider one of the other 4 elementary schools within the county. If sports is a priority stick with Allons & Rickman. Both have very good basketball programs, but Allons is smaller in regard to students per teacher. School Board and Superintendent don't have the backbone to bring up zoning.

Strong leadership from the principal. Good teachers. Helpful staff.

The teachers, vice principal, and principal are all really great. It’s obvious they love what they do and they care about the kids. They keep parents involved not only with their kids progress but with kid activities put on at the school.
