1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers are mostly more helpful & look forward to teaching students, but it’s a hit or miss sometimes. This school does have some potential but they have low staff, One of the teachers before leaving admitted to the school not paying them enough, Some teachers are reasonable but others just put us in stress of how much work we have to finish in a small amount of time. The bathrooms look terrible, In every stall I went in there was urine all over the seats and toilet paper on the floor, even wet puddles on the floor of I’m not even sure what, And the worst part is that I’m pretty sure they took the picture I took of it down on their google reviews. Actually, I don’t think I have seen janitors around this school. The school creates unnecessary problems instead of focusing on what really matters for student’s needs. I really do like some teachers and staff there, but it’s going to take more work for ACHS. Please take the future of student’s more into mind.Student Review1y ago7 Reviews - Dr Charles C Polk School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis place is decent tho I think I wouldn’t recommend it because the students are really dumb and annoying and they also disrupt class and some make weird comments and rude ones too and teachers do nothing about it.I feel like if the students were behaved well and not act stupid this school will receive a fine 5 star rating but the students ruin it. Most teachers are really nice like Mr Olsen and Mr Lagrazon and all the teachers I have are really niceStudent Review4mo ago7 Reviews - Grace Wilday Junior High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been a Roselle school district parent off and on since 2018. Before Dr. Fisher became superintendent of the school district, things were pretty bad. Once he got into office, things got better and better across the district with every passing year. Fast-forward to now, 2026, it seems like a new world and more opportunities have opened up to our students. I think overall GWJHS is a good school, but I just wish that the ELA teachers would focus more on teaching the students how to format and reproduce essays, creative writing projects, book reports, etc. I as a parent, do that with my child at home to supplement. But, I really wish that he would get it at school. I also wish that teachers would actually send home some physical work that the parents can actually see a lot more often, or that there was a way for parents to actually see the virtual assignments that their kids are being given so that we can see what type of work they’re doing and what answers they are giving on these assignments. The new principal, Mr. Ashby, seems to really care about the students, so I’m definitely going to mention this to him. I am sure that he will try to do something to accommodate or make things better because he has been doing a pretty good job of that so far. This is his first year as principal at the school and I think that definitely by next year the school will be even better.Parent Review3mo ago6 Reviews - Kindergarten Success Academy

"It has tremendous public transportation. I've lived here more than 11 years. - I used to live in New York, San Francisco, Washington, Boston. Working in New York City (and more recently at home), I've NOT HAD TO BUY A CAR! The train station, bus stops, the supermarket, grocery store, barber shops, churches, a fishmonger, pizzerias, Chinese restaurants, bars - they're all walking distance from anywhere in Roselle and Roselle Park! And to New York City, there are not only only 3 stops on the train - and 40 minutes on one of the two bus routes that make their way through Roselle and Roselle Park, but to other nearby towns and cities, obviously it's even less time on the train or buses. (There are six bus routes through the town, taking you everywhere in Union County and beyond). And finally, if you do have a car, we're just off the Garden State Parkway. Add an enormous park with indoor ice skating arena, baseball diamonds, cricket grounds, a separate walled rose garden, a grove of trees planted in honor of George Washington almost 100 years ago - and playgroun"
