This school and it’s district ARE NOT what the hype will try to make you believe. Do your research, ask around. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family has been part of Rockrimmon Elementary for several years, and I waited to write a review until having a longer experience with the school. One of our students has an IEP for specific learning disorders and experiences anxiety, and we deeply appreciate the support systems the school has in place.While the IEP process does take time, we have seen meaningful academic and emotional growth. Communication has also improved with the addition of the ParentSquare platform, which makes it easier to share quick updates—such as when a morning has been challenging or something may affect my students' ability to focus.Overall, Rockrimmon has been a positive and welcoming place for us. Students are greeted each morning at drop-off areas and entrances, which sets a supportive tone for the day. Specialists and support staff play an active role in the school community, and many adults—from specials teachers to custodial staff, paraprofessionals, and counselors—take time to connect with students, helping the school feel welcoming and safe.I’ve noticed strong expectations for student behavior and respect. During the morning pledge, everyone stops—even in the hallways—and students consistently move through the building calmly and quietly (I was impressed by this the first time I saw this and it caught me off guard.) Rockrimmon does an excellent job setting clear expectations early in the year, creating an environment where students can thrive.No school is going to be perfect or meet everyone's expectations. But my experience is that kids are being educated and encouraged to take ownership of their own actions and learning. "We have lived in this neighborhood almost 3 years. At first we really loved the neighborhood, as it seemed like people cared about their neighbors and the neighborhood. With the turnover in homes,it seems as the new residents have this it's all about me attitude. When we first moved here you never saw dog poop just left anywhere, now you have to be careful where you walk. "

"People here complain about too much barking. My little dogs bark but they’re only outside long enough to potty. In some areas there are wild animals roaming. It’s unsafe to leave your pet unattended. I’m afraid for my dogs safety from predators when they go out so I watch them. An owl or Hawk could take them away. I wasn’t aware of this, it wasn’t in the research I did on Colorado Springs."
