What a wonderful environment and culture this school and their educators provide to our students. I'm really proud of the work they do to nurture the development of our students.

Our experience at Scottsburg Elementary School has been wonderful. The school has a warm, welcoming community where children are treated with kindness, encouragement, and respect. The school is always clean, well-kept, and creates an environment where students feel safe and ready to learn.The teachers are truly amazing, engaged, caring, and focused on helping every child succeed. The classrooms are interactive and centered on learning in ways that keep students involved and excited. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about the children academically and personally.A special shoutout to Principal Nathan Lantor, whose leadership and heart make this school truly special. He is incredibly involved with the students, takes time to interact with them, and makes children feel seen, valued, and encouraged. His positive presence is felt throughout the school, and it’s clear he genuinely cares about every child. Leaders like him help make Scottsburg Elementary feel more like family than just a school.Overall, Scottsburg Elementary is more than a school, it feels like family. There is a genuine sense of care, support, and belonging from the moment you walk in. It’s the kind of place where children are known, valued, and loved, and that means everything to a parent.

Halifax County High School (HCHS) is a modern, state-of-the-art building that includes collaborative learning spaces, a two-story gym, and improved CTE spaces for programs like cosmetology. Career pathways include Culinary Arts, Health Occupations, Agriculture (with a new greenhouse), and Motorsports. HCHS offers a 12:1 student/teacher ratio and partnerships allowing students to earn Associate of Arts degrees upon graduation.
