5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school could be great but the way the kids are allowed to be mishandled is ridiculous. All of the kids who suffered during the covid year who struggled were forced to go to summer school because the entire school wasn't on one page on what to do when kids missed for a plan they put in place. That in my opinion was handled poorly. Can you imagine being a kid with a disability and has that happen. Also, the counselors are great when they are in our face with our kids but to hear reports of them being nasty because they wanna converse ids ridiculous as well. I thought they were there to help the students, not be useless and a burden whenever the students need help. I'm not just talking about the top of the class or favorite students I am saying for all. Also, race is still a huge issue in this district. The lines of Colerain and Northwest are being drawn over and over. That wouldn't be an issue either but the privileged side of the district wants nothing to do with the not so privileged people. I didn't just make it u. In the last few years we have dealt with the racial issues. In and out of the school. We also have seen new faces be brought in to help with it (I commend this for trying for sure). The fact that the suspension rate for black and brown people is sooooooo high as compared to the white students makes me wonder what the makeup of the faculty and staff are as well. That matters just as much. It's ridiculously higher, even for children with disabilities! Outrageous. Now the school is trying to push more kids to walk to school because they don't want to just pay for busses and noone wants to work part time hours split up throughout the day, but they ignore all of the dangers that our children have to go through. There aren't enough sidewalks, there isn't enough street lighting, and there are too many kids who have come up missing too close to home to feel comfortable with the kids walking. To know that the option is to miss is crazy as well. If the buses don't come the kids have to miss school, AND they charge you for it as well because the state has rules too so miss enough and they're citing you to court too. In conclusion the school from our experience hasn't been much better than average in much, but they do a great job of making sure you don't get into the building, they do a tremendous job of keeping it clean, and the communication is mostly on point. Many of these things can fixed but it will require people to be more fair.Parent Review3y ago5 Reviews - Pleasant Run Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far, not a happy camper. The communication with the school is horrible. And when the staff is disrespectful, instead of acknowledging their disrespect, they make excuses for one another. Her last school had a communication board between the staff and the parents and it was amazing. I guess the grass isn’t so greener on the other side.Parent Review4y ago7 Reviews - Pleasant Run Middle School

"They have events that I can not specify right now because I am usually unavailable for them because I work at night. I can say they have meetings about the community, carnivals, and parades."

"I would live here if I didn't live else where. In the 10 years my relatives live there, They only know of 2 robberies. Unfortunately, next door went out of town and left their garage door open. Around the corner a friend just brought the house and the copper was stolen from it. The neighborhood is very diversity in color and in gayness. The biggest downsize is you must own a car or walk about 1.5 to the bus stop. This isn't good in the cold month when it is dark or if you have to be at work at 6am. It is good for walkers. The people speak to you as you walk around the neighborhood. The community has a paper that come out telling about all the activites, babysitters, garage sales, kids for hire and so forth. There are awards for best landscape. It is hard not to like the community. Nearby hotels came in handy for family reunioun. The mall and resturants was in walking distant and other malls was less than a 5 minutes drive. I've seen at least 8 species of birds, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, It is the country living with the city environment. Or should I say the peacefulness of the country and the convienent of the city. Either ways it is a great place to live as a couple, retirees or raise your children. I think it is a tab bit slow for single who like action. This is no place like the basketball wives. LOL or hollywood husbands. just had to LOL again. They look better on television. For entertainment only."
