  • John M. D.
"safe family area to raise children. Everyone is friendly and kind. Check out the area and see what you can of the area. I have enjoyed every moment living here. "
  • MemphisMendi
"Great place to raise a family or retire. Wonderful neighborhood and the golf course is maintained as well as any private course around!"
  • Paul
"No public transportation. Mediocre schools. Nice neighbors! Limited job opportunities. Speeding through our neighborhood is a big problem!! Maintenance of the park walkway is just promises. "
  • Paul
"30 minutes drive to work. No work opportunities in Oakland. Sadly! No good high school. Reason why we plan to move to Arlington or Lakeland. "
  • Paul
"Fools from the neighborhood next to ours speed through our neighborhood with no regard to children waiting on the school bus. Then the police sit on hwy 64 where the danger to school children is minimal. Shouldn’t they patrol neighborhoods rather than sitting on hwy 64."
  • Jane b.
"One mile from center of Oakland. Only 45 minutes to downtown Memphis and 45 minutes to airport. Convenient access to interstates. "
  • Demetrious S. B.
"Great neighborhood and neighbors. No complaints. I'm considering buying a house here soon............m"
  • sherrykham50
    "Very peaceful setting. Quite Neighbors."
  • reneecockrell
"I lived in Memphis for 50 years and my brother moved to Oakland and he told me to look for a home to buy in Oakland ... so I did and I'm so happy I did. I love love love Oakland and it's only 17 miles from the Wolfchase Mall. I don't go to the mall much , but it's not far away if I want to. I love Kroger and Wal-Mart and Walgreens and Oakland has everything I need. It's so nice to be happy where I live. Oakland ... well ...It's a quiet gem to say the lease. I would tell everyone that's looking for a great place to live to look in Oakland. Oakland people look after Oakland people... now I think there is about 6,300 people that live in Oakland, Tennessee and it's about half men and half woman. "
  • Jo
"Short commute TO Memphis with almost NO TAXES. I lived here for three years. The neighbors are caring and we carefully watch each others' property. I hated to leave but I had to move for my job. The schools are rated poorly but if the pupil's parents show an active interest, the teachers love to give special attention to your child. This town is a hidden gem!"
