Moving our family from Arizona to Colorado was a big change, I worried about my 13 year old daughter adjusting to not only a new school with new people but a completely different environment. I am so happy and truly blessed to have her in this school; the schools in Arizona that she attended do not compare to this one. Parents that are able to raise a family in Steamboat Springs are incredibly blessed not only with the safe community, great resources but with the education system. The principal Ms. Chapman, my daughter's counselor Ms. Moss, her teachers Ms. McCannon, Ms. O'Hara, Mr. Weber, they are all incredible.

This school is great for 80% of kids, if your children fall above or below the average, this school does not meet your needs. We have had two kids go through the school, both of whom were bullied very badly. The staff and principal/assistant principal did not follow up on any of it, and were annoyed at our persistence after our children were assaulted multiple times. Over the last couple of years, the talk around town has even been that parents could tell which kids were from this elementary school versus the other, by watching the children's show of respect. Respect is not a priority at this school. If your child is sensitive about the way they are treated, I would chose another school.
