6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNothing against the school itself but the entire SCUC district needs to get their act together. This district is by far the WORST my kids have ever attended. (My family has moved alot to where this is the 7th school my kids have gone to) no wonder there are so many homeschooling kids in this area. The school days (times) are absurd and each year they change. Longer school years, kids not getting out till 3:30 / 4:30, not to mention IF your kids makes sports teams they will be getting home even later! This district has a lot to learn. I wish my family could move back to our old town because that district has their *stuff* together.Parent Review2y ago11 Reviews - Byron P Steele II High School

The administration and teachers are responsive, and I am always informed. If you're looking for a diverse student body and support, Steele is the school for you.Parent Review9mo ago12 Reviews - Elaine S Schlather Intermediate School

The staff fosters a positive learning atmosphere where kids feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow academically and socially. The school also offers great extracurricular activities and a strong sense of community. Highly recommended for any family looking for a well-rounded and nurturing education! My family just hit 1 year back in Texas and this school has made the transition so pleasant, It’s in a great safe community that makes you feel so welcomed.Parent Review1y ago22 Reviews - Check out schools near Cherry tree Dr.

"People speed on this street everyday. I don’t feel safe letting my kids play outside because I’m worried someone will run them over. "

"We do out door activities. There are multiple areas of opportunity to serve your local community. There is a no kill shelter and there are a number of other options for you and your pet. There is public library available to the local community. There are many options for worship in the area and opportunities to volunteer and assist with activities in the community. "

"4th of July Parade and Festival of Angels in early December are unique city events that attract many of the city’s residents. Schertz is more than just a safe community with convenient access to everything; it still feels like a small town here in most parts, though rapidly advancing development along FM3009 and points East is leading to big city headaches like traffic congestion, especially at drive times"

"We’ve lived in Schertz for 10 years and it’s both diverse and cohesive. There are many military families that retire to this community. Jonas Woods is a great neighborhood. "

"Safe neighborhood and friendly neighbors. We have great walking trails and location. The pool is relaxing and having the food trucks come and every so often a band is the best!"

"I always see people walking/running with their dogs and the dogs are so friendly and always seem to have a blast. The dogs are always on a leash and there are water fountains for people and dogs that are working and always seem to be in a good clean condition. "

"Close to 35 and easy to get around as long as 3009 isn’t congested. Traffic can be bad in the mornings but once you get to 35 it doesn’t take long."

"The commute is terrible to the highway. No public transportation. There are ride share programs. But over the years traffic gets worse and worse. "

"I always see neighbors walking their dogs around the neighborhood and even on the main road outside the subdivision that has wide sidewalks and a water fountain for the pets in a designated area :) "

"It’s a bit of a drive but I genuinely like Schertz-Cibolo area. Traffic on 35 is horrible at almost anytime of the day, I do wish TXDOT had a game plan that would be sooner vs later. "

"Car is the main source of transportation or you gotta carpool via park ’n ride. Bus has not quite making its way here yet. Motorcycles and cycles are not as popular but they are around. The rush hours require extra half an hour or more. Compare to ten years ago, the automobile volume has increased tremendously. The housing and developments are popping up in drove. This area and surrounding are growing fast but it still has its suburbia charm. Outside of rush hours, traffic is still pretty nice. Most conveniences are nearby so commute is not lengthy."
