NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school! My daughter started Transitional Kindergarten here and the teachers have been excellent. They're very good at providing guidance and offering optional homework. The fact that the school only goes up to second grade is a huge plus, as it fosters a comfortable environment for kids as they are in the same age group.Parent Review9mo ago11 Reviews - Newark Memorial High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school creates an unsafe learning and living environment. Many children who attend here report multiple cases of bullying and harassment. Homophobia, racism, and bigotry, in general, run rampant in this school's social environment. Young LGBTQ+ members report feeling unsafe and uncomfortable here. My personal experience with my child learning here was anything but positive. My son was disrespected by teachers and staff, and refused to acknowledge his gender identity. When he reported his sexual assaulter, who attends the school, to the school officials they told him that unless he makes an aggressive action towards him they are unable to do anything. They also didn't accommodate my son with his disabilities even though he has a 504 and an IEP. When we tried to take him out of Newark Memorial and transfer him into an independent study program, they switched his classes to his required special education classes that he was not enrolled in previously and claimed they had been giving him the required accommodations the entire time. We stuck with our decision to transfer him and then on the day he was originally supposed to go back, a school riot broke out. Multiple children ended up in handcuffs and one was even arrested. I would not recommend anyone send their child here unless they want them to get hurt.Other Review3y ago11 Reviews - Birch Grove Intermediate

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe current principal at this school is way better than the previous one. This school year there have been more family school nights, STEAM learnings, emotional support workshops to support kids growth and learning to help kids become resilient and good kids. My kids have enjoyed attending all the activities provided by the school. They also work with parents to help the child improve. Tutoring is also available to support kid’s learning.Parent Review1y ago10 Reviews - Newark Junior High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBest School in bay area. This school truly stands out as one of the best educational institutions in the Bay Area due to its exceptional academic standards, dedicated teachers, and supportive learning environment. From the moment students enter, they are encouraged to aim high, think critically, and develop both academically and personally.Other Review5mo ago11 Reviews - Check out schools near Cedar Blvd.

"This is the perfect location. Between San Francisco and San Jose. Convenient to Sunnyvale and Livermore. The advantage of access to the Dumbarton and San Mateo bridges allows selection of the least busy bridge when going North on the Peninsula. 880 or surface streets to places like Sunnyvale and Mountain View."

"The commute here is largely determined by traffic. I don’t live here but commuted to my office for a few days from an area hotel. Leaving at the busiest time more than doubled the commute time."

"The Siliman center has indoor pool. They offer fun activities for kids. My kids are adults now so I can’t comment too much about it. But when they were little, we had all sorts of classes there. Also May there is kite day and there is also Newark days. "

"In general throughout the entire Bay Area, if you have a dog over 30lbs, it’s very difficult to find a place to live if you are renting. It’s quite a shame."
