"I usually bike out walk to work. Couple busy streets in town but most everything else is quaint, quiet, and charming. Parking can be a headache downtown."
    • Tongate
"New to the area, love what I’ve seen so far. People are kind, pets are welcomed into almost every establishment, and very bike friendly. Wonderful evening farmers market downtown on Thursday nights and a wide variety of dining options."

    • Ali
"You have to have a car. There are bike lanes, but it’s still quite a ride to get most places. The buses are slow and unreliable "
    • Fess
"The weekly farmers market and street fair attracts thousands of people. Cerro San Luis Peak hiking trail is two hundred yards away. The Foothill commercial district provides trendy restaurants, coffe shops, gyms and a grocery store. "
    • Scott Haselden
"Beautiful and natural, great bike lanes, amazing farmers market, great and friendly people and safe. "
    • Nicstover
"Young families and permanent residents mixed with people that say hello and keep their homes in good shape."
    • Dchristy100
"Easy drive with little congestion. Parking downtown requires imagination and persistence. Public transit is slow and very rare on weekends or evenings. Not much demand. "
    • Matt R.
"The weekly Thursday night farmers market always makes SLO feel inviting. The people are kind and the region is stunning. "
    • Thomson.wes

    • Llsw8163
"A walk up the hill, to downtown, or nearby parks, bike trails and average weather. Love low crime and being in an area I feel safe in."
    • Katie O.
"Great town and neighborhood feel. Great places to go for walk and hikes. There is also a college nearby, so some neighborhoods have lots of student housing."
    • Angelitosaligan
"I’ve lived here all of my life and could never leave this coastal area is so beautiful! There are nothing but cute pocket neighborhoods all throughout slo!"
    • Kelsey N.
"I live near a busy street around restaurants and other college students. Some older people as well, but not many kids. Bike Blvd does have lots of families riding bikes."
    • Kelsey N.
"The town is very spread out, and when you need to go across town (work and school) it feels inconvenient and because the transit in slo is centered in the center of the city, it makes it even more difficult to choose public transit. "
    • Jaimal H.
"I have a very short and convenient commute, with close access to great bike trails, to get to work or downtown. "
    • Aprikbell
"I have lived here for over 5 years. It is surrounded by hills, plenty of hiking trails, close to the beach, great downtown area with excellent food and drink and people are very happy and friendly. There’s so much nature to explore and people are generally pretty respectful of each other. "
    • Jacob S.
"Farmers market every Thursday night downtown. There are also Blues Baseball games throughout the summer to be enjoyed. Tickets priced fairly "
    • Plkl
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 16 years my husband grew up 4 houses down the street. I raised my family here as well. Wonderful area. "
    • Katya1701
"I work within walking distance of my home so my commute is easy. San Luis has pockets of homes and businesses. There is a down town area. I live away from that. Traffic is increasing and can be an issue at the end of the day. There is a bus stop however buses are infrequent. "
    • Ninjadan0331
"They would love the peacefulness and weather. The only potential negative is the traffic which is minimal and generally slow."
    • Katya1701
"People walk their dogs all the time and chat with each other. Most neighbors are friendly and kind to each other. All ages Great kids who can play in the streets safely. "
    • Lexibunny6666
"The pros are that there is a park and a trial other than that a lot of land lords don’t allow dogs around here."
    • Taylor B.
"We have two farmers markets close by! plus a gorgeous little lake with a dog park and beautiful trees. Shabang SLO happens at Laguna Lake as well!"
    • CAB
"College town. Cal Poly. Fun downtown. Farmers market on Thursday evenings. Would like to retire here."
    • Anidazelsdorf
"We have only lived here 2 months, we lost our home in Paradise in the Campfire. We really like SLO. Our neighborhood has a beautiful public park, it’s across the street from our house. "
    • Janae F.
"short and sweet . only moderate traffic in afternoons. my drive to work is five minutes and I can easily walk to stores and restraunt downtown. "
    • G
"Lots of bums and the area is being infiltrated with people from Fresno and Bakersfield for vacations, and they're not the upper class type. The area, like much of California, is changing. "
