"Like most towns, there are beautiful areas, and some areas that leave things to be desired. Overall, I enjoy visiting my family here. "
    • Carol V. Z.
"I've lived here for 15 years, and some of our neighbors are friendly. About 25% of the homes are well-maintained, but it is very difficult to improve our property because they don't like to issue building permits. "
    • Ty H.
"It's a nice town. Quiet in some parts. The children in the neighborhood are generally very friendly with each other. "
    • Kathy T.
"I have lived in this community for 15 years. It’s safe. Very small but it was nice to know your kids parents and teachers and neighbors. "

    • CAROLINA S.
"easy. nice neighborhood. never a problem. a little traffic by Walmart after 5pm but not bad. I recommend this town "

"no parks and you need to pick up your poop. no pet friendly restaurants either but the neighborhood has a lot of dogs. people are relatively friendly especially regarding dogs. "
    • Jayden3910
"Very safe here. No crimes...cops are always around. Been here over ten years no complains except flood zone problem needs to be fixed for Manville "
    • Anabella J
"You'll see people walk their dogs every now and then. It's not uncommon, but it isn't an every day occurence. Of course it depends on where in Manville you live. I for example live in the valley. "
    • Rperez12315

"it does flood with very heavy rain and hurricanes usually. we are surrounded by 2 rivers. there typically isn't street noise depending where you're staying however there are a lot of rail roads that run through manville so often more times than not you'll hear a train."
    • Margamalarky
"I see people walking dogs all the time. Local dog parks relatively close in neighboring towns. Most houses have fenced in backyards. "
    • Damaris C.
"We do have a lot of near by stores and restaurants. The hospital is not that far from Manville, NJ. the only cons. of living in Manville would be that it is a flood zone area."
    • jloconnor
"Despite what you may hear...Manville is a very nice town to live in. People are very friendly, stores are nearby and many homes are kept very nice. Flooding DOES NOT consume the town...many areas (like mine) don't flood, in fact don't even need sump pumps. I feel Manville is one of Somerset county's best kept secrets for most people looking for a modest way of living."
    • Carol F. K.
"I am a local real estate agent, but I also live in Manville with my family. My son attends the middle school. My extended family lives in a home on the Northside that my husband grew up in. Manville was incorporated as a Municipality in 1929 and is comprised of 2.1 square miles in Somerset County, New Jersey. The area is located midway between two of the Country's greatest metopolitan areas - New York City and Philadelphia. Manville has a population of ~10,000 people. Manville was named after the Johns-Manville Corporation, which maintained a large manufacturing facility in the borough for decades. Historically, many of Manville's residents are of Slavic — mostly eastern Polish (23.1% of the borough's population) and western Ukrainian - descent. The Manville School District serves public school students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. This is 2009-10 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics. Christ the King School, a Catholic school, serves Pre-K - 8th grade. Main Street, Manville includes many businesses including several pizza places, Dunkin Donuts, a local diner, Walmart, Reading Cinemas and an ice cream parlor just to name a few. Manville is also the home of the American Legion, the VFW and the Hillsborough / Manville Elks. "
    • Allan M.
"Manville in many ways is like a teenager who wants to be an adult because he/she thinks Life is going to be so much fun when you're older. Manville has three major problems; one of which is always immediate. 1. Flooding 2. increasing taxes. 3. a stratified population. Only time will tell whether the Place changes the people who move here or whether the people who moved here changed the Place."
