6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNothing against the school itself but the entire SCUC district needs to get their act together. This district is by far the WORST my kids have ever attended. (My family has moved alot to where this is the 7th school my kids have gone to) no wonder there are so many homeschooling kids in this area. The school days (times) are absurd and each year they change. Longer school years, kids not getting out till 3:30 / 4:30, not to mention IF your kids makes sports teams they will be getting home even later! This district has a lot to learn. I wish my family could move back to our old town because that district has their *stuff* together.Parent Review2y ago11 Reviews - Green Valley Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe decided to transfer our daughter out of the kindergarten “Fish” class after a difficult experience. At home she is loving and well-behaved, but at school we mostly received negative reports and little focus on her positives. Some discipline practices, like being told to “get out of the carpet” in front of classmates or sitting on an “X” repeatedly, felt public and shaming rather than supportive. On a few occasions she asked adults for help when another child hurt her, but no one followed up. We also reached out to the counselor about a sensitive concern and felt the response lacked empathy. In the end, instead of encouragement and patience, our daughter felt anxious and stressed. Five-year-olds deserve to feel safe, cared for, and supported. That was not our experience, which is why we moved her to another school.Parent Review7mo ago9 Reviews - Byron P Steele II High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe sought out Steele upon our return from overseas. It has been exactly what our son needed. The administration and teachers are responsive, and I am always informed. If you're looking for a diverse student body and support, Steele is the school for you.Parent Review9mo ago12 Reviews - Elaine S Schlather Intermediate School

"Our specific neighborhood has soggy trash cans and baggy dispensers around the local park. Lots of dog owners and everyone seems friendly and accepting of pets. "

"It’s usually not a bad commute to San Antonio unless it’s weekdays, early morning or after 4:00 pm. I-35 is a busy interstate. But using the back highway, FM78, is usually a good alternative when traffic is busy."

"It’s extremely safe and most people are very friendly. A lot of Air Force people that don’t stay long. It’s great if you work NE of San Antonio, but it is a horrible commute to down town and it gets worse every day. "

"I have lived in Cibolo for 16 years and commuted to Fort Sam. The Schibolo community still has a small town feel, even though it is on the insanely busy IH35 and right next to humongous San Antonio. The school district is very good (our daughter got a full academic scholarship to college after graduating from Steele), there is a fabulous HEB around the corner, and downtown Cibolo is really developing into a great place to eat and drink."
