"Good access to many business hubs. Maryland, Virginia and PA all within short time spans. Mostly highway but from WV to VA is highly congested in the mornings M-F from 5 AM to 9 AM. "
  • Kimberlykelly22
"There is a great community park but transportation is required. There is a lake and plenty of hiking possibilities to take your kids on. Tubing & kayaking are regular summer activities in this area."
  • Kimberlykelly22
"We have not participated in any neighborhood events. We have paid for a cooking class for kids at the community center which was less than optimal. My parents live here as well and they overpaid for use of the lake for two years...disappointing my kids on more than one occasion. In general it is a great place to live. We just hope the use of the lake gets worked out sooner than later."
  • Kimberlykelly22
"We have not participated in any community events in our neighborhood. We joined the community center for a cooking class for kids once, they try to provide activities at the Mountain Community Center."
  • Kaitlin P.
"There is many events that go on down here and you can be right by the river and hike anytime. If your a member of blue ridge acres you can go to the pool and all the events."
  • Kimberlykelly22
"It is a beautiful commute along the Shenandoah River. There is only one road in and out of my neighborhood so it makes the commute difficult when we have impassable conditions. Snow, ice, traffic accidents and downed power lines can prevent getting to work. It does not happen often, but it can happen."
  • Crystal S.
"Peace and quiet is the number one attraction. local volunteer fire station hosts a variety of potlucks throughout the year."
  • RealDeal
"SOME of the Neighbors suck, the houses are nice, and schools are cool. I cant complain too much. They plow the snow on time every year. "
  • Lexiesappleemail1
"There aren't many or any community events that go on in my part of Harpers Ferry that I am aware of."
  • Tina F.
"There are not a lot of street lights unless you li e in town. Downtown has a lot of areas to walk and there are a lot of nature trails to hike with your dog in the area."
  • Garrett M.
"All wild life are welcome here. No one will bother you, just need to make sure you leash your animals as there are some people that decide leashing isn’t necessary and it could be dangerous. Also drivers around here don’t abide by the speed limit."
  • Danieljamesskinner
"Lots of wild animals are fun to watch. Birds to bears. Dogs sometimes run loose so keep an eye out for country critters. "
  • Sebastian R.
"A quaint historic town located at the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers (also, the tri-state point of WV, VA, and MD). Because of the town's central location, Northern Virginia, Martinsburg, Frederick, and Winchester are all within an hour's drive; Baltimore and Washington are just over an hour."
  • beelertank
"Commute to the big dollars of the D.C metro area but enjoy all the benefits of the country!"
  • dora7165
"So much to enjoy in Harpers Ferry, WV area. White water rafting and tubing, canoeing and kayaking on the two major rivers make this a great area to live and enjoy recreation. Sam Michael's Park nearby with all kinds of activities and sports for kids to enjoy and grow in a healthy community. Hiking and biking also popular here......"
  • Gil N. G.
"People come from all over to visit the Harpers Ferry area, whether for historical, recreation or the two rivers. Why not live here and enjoy what others travel to see and enjoy."
  • anton
"Close to Marc train, major route, entertainment, universities, gambling, restaurants, and to countless recreational opportunities - hiking, fishing, river-tubing, wine-tasting, hunting and breathing clean air. "
  • Brenda C.
"I love to walk in the park and I can hop on the train if I want to go into D.C. Everyone here is happy and friendly. The tourist are nice as well. I couldn't ask for a more enchanted place to live."
  • Andrew w.
"Beautiful Country Living. Near MARC. Great for couples seeking solace."
