9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot once has my kid come home and told me what they’ve learned, nor have they exhibited knowledge that I could presume came from their class. The classes are overrun with unruly kids and teachers that are checked out from their responsibility. The principal can do absolutely nothing to control violent kids and will tell you “it’s a public school, we have to have a space for everyone.” They have a policy that stops them from speaking with you as a parent about any other kid in class. This helps them essentially do nothing about any recurring violence because it’s impossible to pin down the problem. Despite this rule, I have heard from a fellow parent that the teacher put blame on my kid for starting the problem. We’ve had the teacher and principal in a meeting and told them to let us know if our kid was at all creating this problem and they both assured us they were not. The teacher, I know has a problem with how the class was run but was essentially a ventriloquist doll in the meeting, afraid to say anything the principal would not be happy with. We were excited to have our kids in this school, but with the lack of transparency, and reluctance to put safety and learning above all else, we have become totally disenchanted with the school and it’s leadership.Parent Review3w ago11 Reviews - Longmont High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe administration seems more focused on enforcing pointless rules than actually supporting students. Teachers are hit or miss—some genuinely care, but many just seem burned out or uninterested. Communication is terrible, especially when it comes to grades or important updates. The mental health resources are basically non-existent, and the school culture overall feels toxic and cliquey. If you're expecting support, creativity, or growth here, lower your expectations. A lot needs to change. Unfortunately, my experience with Principal Jeff McMurry was disappointing. From the start, their attitude came across as arrogant and dismissive. Rather than fostering a welcoming and respectful environment, he often speaks in a condescending tone, making both students and parents feel unheard and undervalued. A principal should lead by example—showing respect, humility, and care for the school community—but that was not what I witnessed at Longmont High School.Parent Review8mo ago12 Reviews - Westview Middle School

"I don't know, I don't partake in community events. There's sometimes downtown main street events. Like in the summer there's a classic car parade. And there's Halloween and day of the dead celebrations in the fall. "

"This area borders Bpulder County open space and has a large park near by. The cars tend to speed on the street so keep dogs leashed when walking the sidewalk, but it's otherwise a great area. "
