1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don’t usually leave reviews, but this one feels important. I’ve worked in different environments, and what stands out about McLaughlin Academy of Excellence is the people. There is a strong group of educators here who genuinely care and consistently go the extra mile to support students, both academically and personally. What says the most to me is that I choose to drive about an hour each morning to be here. That decision is rooted in the environment, the teamwork, and the shared commitment to helping students succeed. It’s not just about teaching content, it’s about making a real impact.Over the course of the school year, I’ve also seen students leave for other schools and later return. That, to me, speaks volumes. Many of them realize that the support, structure, and relationships they have here are exactly what they need to grow and be successful.Like any school, there’s always room for growth, but there is a solid foundation of staff who show up every day ready to support and uplift students in meaningful ways.Teacher Review2mo ago9 Reviews - Chain Of Lakes Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have nothing against the school personally, but the security guard permanently banned my wife from the school when she had depression, and had an episode. We did ask the principal if my wife was allowed to come to our daughter's graduation, and she agreed. When we were at the graduation, the security guard saw us inside and made us leave. Due to this, we won't register our son to Chain of Lakes. My wife has been healthy for a year now, and I just feel like we were discriminated against due to my wife's illness. This was so heartbreaking for our daughter to witness us being kicked out of her graduation.Parent Review1y ago15 Reviews - Check out schools near Booker St.

"I drive my personal vehicle because we don’t have public transit in LW. It’s 16 miles to where I work but it usually takes me 45 minutes because there are too many people on the road. Hwy 27 is like a racetrack and you literally are living on the edge when you drive on it. Too many people for this small area."

"Mainly aims to please the older generation 55+ there really isn’t anything for the younger generations to do. No restaurants mainly just fast food. Have to commute to neighboring cities for entertainment and dining "

"Bad schools, no jobs, angry people. I can’t find a school that focuses on kids understanding the material they just pass them into the next grade"

"Horrible considering my job is in Lakeland since there are no good jobs in lake Wales. Other than that stores are close but there is not a very big of variety of stores to choose from. Also not enough major restaurants. "

"Indian lake estates, is NOT lake wales, it's Bout 18 miles east on hwy 60. the subdivision is private property which is a plus, however with only one entrance it creates almost 9 miles of excess driving for anyone coming from lake wales. (drive 3 1/2 miles further than necessary the a right turn followed by a right turn basically back tracking where you just came from"

"There is a really nice play park at Bok tower gardens for children with many activities there to keep them occupied for a couple hours. Also has a splash pad and hammocks in the shade for the parents to relax and still keep an eye on their kids. "

"Dogs are often accepted in rentals for a fee. The fees I’ve seen are $25-$50 per month. Most communities have sidewalks to walk your dos and there are nice parks. "
