"There are a lot of great things happening in Skowhegan. There's a great farmer's market, a revitalized downtown with a bakery and some great places to shop. A new Thai restaurant is coming soon. It's a great place to canoe, both on the Kennebec River and at Lake George Regional Park. There is a community recreation center and lots of stuff to do if you like to be involved with community activities. Maple sugar houses are open in the spring for example. "
