NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe really like the teachers at this school. They're a dedicated staff that works hard to make learning fun. I love that they have gym every day as well as a rotation of art, music, library, and technology. They also teach coding starting in kindergartners. All in all we've been very happy with the education our daughter has gotten at this school.Parent Review6y ago9 Reviews - Viking School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRiver Trail is an awesome school! The teachers and leadership are both amazing. I have three kids in the school, and we couldn't be happier. Teachers take steps to challenge my kids and push them to do their best. The teachers are always super responsive to any questions or concerns I have. The school sends newsletters every week and teachers send additional info as needed. It helps to keep us in the loop. Although, remote learning had its challenges last year, River Trail handled it so well. You could tell they always took steps to be sure they did what was best for kids.Parent Review4y ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near Augusta Dr.

"Depends what area of Waukegan you live. It’s getting better throughout the years. Just don’t let kids out when it gets dark. A lot of families live and be outside in the summer. "

"People from Chicago are here and have been since the 80s. It’s bad when they cause the problems here. So have street smarts and stay away from the bad areas."

"Okay but downtown is bad and dangerous. I have lived here most of my life. It’s mostly people from Chicago moving in this city that make it bad."

"Not a good neighborhood too much petty crime. I do not feel safe walking alone. Too many shootings nearby. Too many people walk on the street and risk getting run over. Waukegan is not a good place to raise a family. "

"Dog friendly, but heavy salting in winter that’s tough on paws. Doggie stations around for pickup, but often times out of bags or not in a convenient location. "

"To much traffic, not well lit enough and not as safe as I’d like it to be at night. We are in a day and age where people just don’t care about the next guy so you want to not walk alone unless your dog is vicious! "
