    Tehachapi is a city in Kern County, California, in the Tehachapi Mountains, at an elevation of 3,970 feet between the San Joaquin Valley and the Mojave Desert. It is 35 miles east-southeast of Bakersfield, and 20 miles west of Mojave. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10 square miles and a population of 14,414. Tehachapi has a Mediterranean climate, which is characterized by dry summers and mild, wet winters. It's known for its four-seasons. The wet season is generally November through May, although thunderstorms are common during the summer, especially over the nearby mountain peaks. Average temperatures range from 88 to 58 °F in July to 52 to 29 °F in January. The area typically collects 15 to 20 inches of snow each winter.

People are terrific, wildlife run free and are respected, the mountain views leave me speechless, prices for Realestate are reasonable, Tehachapi is handy and provides access to extras, although with the amenities in BVS (other than to go to work) one never has to leave for recreation or necessities. We have the Country Market, Saloon, Country club dining, and Mulligan Room!"
