4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is good and all but being a student gives you a different perspective on the school. The clubs like BPA is great for you child and the electives there for choice is also great. Though if your planning to send you child there who is tall, you may want to get a doctors note as those desk/chair combo is very uncomfortable. Also the provide school lunch is not recommended as it’s horrible. The teachers do encourage students to do their best though which is great!Student Review2w ago4 Reviews - Sunnyside Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm surprised and a bit disappointed to see this school get a 10 score, it's honestly, NOT. A 5/6 AT BEST! My daughter has been attending this school since 2nd grade, she is now in 5th, the teachers are decent at best. They just do their job children are all numbers to them, no above and beyond. --Granted it's in a decent area so it has the pretty bells and whistles but definitely academic wise such a let down. The extra curriculum at this school consists of PE gym, Art, chorus and what they consider 'tech' which is having your kid sit at a computer playing games for an hour. Luckily my daughter has an IT dad, who has taught her and continues to teach her about TECHNOLOGY and software to get her familiarized. It's honestly mind numbing work, my daughter dislikes it, if you're not a wino mom that contributes heavily to this school, you're unimportant to their tight knit PTO committee, further more your child is unimportant! Don't be fooled by the "pretty" and 10 rating, the children ALL have open book tests and it seems they state test ALL YEAR LONG! What happened to educating our children? Not test them to numbness! Testing is all OPEN BOOK so that of course they get great grades and state funding stays in tact. Trust this review, I'm a mother of travel and I am very invested in my daughters HIGHER education but trust, you won't get that here! SHOP AROUND!!Parent Review8y ago5 Reviews - Smyrna High School

"It is very quiet and safe. There are speed bumps along the main road throughout the neighborhood. Also very diverse. The people are friendly for the most part. I do wish we had side walks though. and i do wish there were more children to trick or treat during halloween. "

"Very violent community and is not pet friendly . No one owns a pet in the apartment complex so it would likely be an bad option for a pet owner ! "

"It’s very easy to get in and out of the neighborhood. White Oak rd can be busy closer to 13 but this far back is great. Very close to Route 1 and lots of back road to drive to clear your mind when needed. Also still close to shopping, main road and highways, and Dover AFB."

"It’s mostly a positive place for pets, but there are a few owners who struggle to keep their animals on leases and others that allow their pets to bark or be loud for long periods of time."

"Dover is a city just like any other good and bad areas. Though small still homey feeling. I prefer more out west of Dover more of a rural feeling"

"Not much space or area to walk a dog. Dogs must remain on a leash. Please pickup the dog waste and place a bag."

"I’m indifferent about Dover. I’m conflicted about how I feel about this city. The crime has increased just like most densely populated areas. There are positive aspects but they don’t outweigh the negative. "

"There are a lot of good schools in Dover. There are also a lot of downtown activities held in the city center at the “green”. There isn’t a lot of crime in my neighborhood either. "

"Love it, neighborhood is friendly and full of children. Many dog walkers and I hardly ever have a owner leave poop on my lawn. I haven’t witnessed crime. I do see people walking along the streets but I think it’s due to public transit being near by overall great place "
