It's great place to hunt whitetail deer and even better for duck hunting with multiple areas of the property staying wet year round making it a haven for ducks. There is also 60 acres of it located on a hill that stays dry year round if you are interested in building a house or cabins. The trees in the property all all native hardwood hundreds of years old. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has attended this school one year. In that time, the child’s grades have improved. There are a lot of after school activities the kids can be included in like archery, quiz bowl, wrestling, cheer, 4H, fccla, library club. The kids are recognized in a monthly ceremony that also promotes school spirit and anti-bullying policies called the “Campions Assembly.” They have a school nurse, counselor, and principles in both education and discipline.While I have no experience in the special education department at this specific school, the district director is exceptional. I have spoken/met with her several times for a child in a different school but same district. The children are both direct instruction/mainstreamed where permitted and I see them on campus and are included in events outside of normal school operation hours.Every school has teachers that parents don’t “prefer”. Each child learns differently. You can be a supportive parent and be involved at this school. You can volunteer to help with after school activities and special events. I have even been on school trips with clubs. You can make this town/school your community if you are willing to put the time in to be involved. No school is perfect but I feel my child is cared for and education goals are being met. They want our children to succeed and try to help navigate issues as they arise. I have no issues setting up meetings or communicating with the staff as I feel needed and have been reached out to as they felt needed.Parent Review2y ago - Dierks Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and principal are exceptional at this school. The classes are crowded and the teachers have to deal with lots of new students coming and going regularly. They stress reading and use the Accelerated Reader program which is good. The principal even takes the kids fishing if they meet their reading goals. As with most public schools, they are stressed trying to meet the needs of all the kids with limited funds and no support from aides or volunteers.Parent Review15y ago
