8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has completed the first half of fourth grade, and we've been impressed with the principal, her homeroom teacher, teacher specialists, and the beautiful school facility itself. Field Elementary has some of the highest math scores in the state, and we particularly like the emphasis on social- emotional learning, which leverages the Responsive Classroom approach. The engagement of parents, in support of the teachers, is extremely strong.Parent Review6y ago10 Reviews - Weston Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWeston is amazing. They give so many resources to students. Not only that, there are a lot of after-school activities you can do, and they also offer transportation till 5:30. For example, there is a swimming pool at the Weston Middle School where the Weston swim teams train in every weekOther Review9mo ago10 Reviews - Country Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school keeps declining due to a SC that continues to be comprised of parents who only want to please school administration. The relationship between the school committee and the superintendent is troubling, to say the least. The superintendent is completely uninterested in doing what is best for the students and Only rains to do what is easiest for her and for the teachers. She was unqualified and hastily appointed when no other candidates accepted the job. Think twice before moving here for the school system. Things look good on the surface but all parents here have their children individually tutored and/or send them to enrichment classes to keep them up to speed. It’s a town and a school system with a lot of money but not a lot of academic rigor. Simply look at some of the department heads and how pedestrian they are. It seems if you have enough years as a teacher you automatically get promoted and are responsible for running a department ( with no experience!) and making important decisions that negatively impact the student community. There are many good school systems out there: Wellesley, Newton, Brookline and Wayland to name a few. Do your research. Don’t bother talking to school committee members because they will just feed you some tired, prepared line. Look very closely at the test scores. Weston falls short.Parent Review3y ago18 Reviews - Woodland Elementary School

"It’s a Commuter’s dream. 3 minutes to the Pike or 128, Rt. 30, 20, or 9. 2 acres tucked in. Very convenient & private. "

"I like in particular the BBQ in the June/July timeframe. Many events are also organized with different themes such as the old, car’,contest."

"Some nice trails to take your dog along with easy access. Plenty of space in the center of town too where you can do long walks. Many people have them which is a plus. "

"Commute is rather easy since I work in waltham. Best time is to go to work either at 7am or after 9am. The return to home is usually a bit crowded in the 4-6 window but alternative roads exist."

"Weston is perfect for families. Excellent schools and this area is a true neighborhood of the old style. Houses are spaced far apart but connected by trials in the abundant conservation land. The neighbors are connected by a love of privacy and nature. They have specifically sought out an area close to Boston that still feels like you are in rural Massachusetts. A mix of historic homes and new modern works well , and the community is united by a love of this very unique environment. We are close to all the amenities of a city yet a world away. You will have to drive to restaurants and shopping and there is no public transportation but you will not have to pack up and vacation in NH or VT, you will live that life everyday and still be 25 minutes from downtown Boston."

"Open land, a community playground for all homeowners on Kendal Common Rd. and Ellis Rd., allows children to play free of traffic in their virtually private domain. With 20 homes on 40 acres, all constructed in the 1950's, all designed by three architects, this area is unique for many reasons, not the least of which the total absence of fences has for over sixty years firmly implanted a communal spirit among all participating homeowners. The entire land mass is away from main thoroughfares on two virtually private roads; a special haven for young and old alike. Here is where we live and brought up our children."
