7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNo support for teachers. Asks to teach courses that require specialized training without providing training. Administration uses the unfair evaluation system to separate teachers they don't like even though those teachers performed above and beyond to produce impressive test scores. There is no parking available for teachers. 30 students in a classroom that can accommodate 20 max. No instructional support for special education students.Teacher Review3mo ago11 Reviews - Hyde-Addison Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe absolutely love Hyde-Addison Elementary! The school has such a welcoming and joyful culture — it truly feels like a community. The diversity of the student body is one of its greatest strengths, and the environment is inclusive and supportive for every child. The facilities are bright, clean, and thoughtfully maintained, creating a space where students feel proud to learn. There are so many opportunities for students to get involved — from enrichment activities to creative projects — and the staff goes above and beyond to make learning engaging and fun.Hyde-Addison’s approach to supporting students is phenomenal. The teachers and intervention team are dedicated and responsive, ensuring that every child gets what they need to thrive. Teacher and staff retention is strong, which speaks volumes about the leadership and school culture. The PTA is incredibly active and does so much to bring families together and enhance school life. The parent community is warm, collaborative, and genuinely invested in the school’s success. We feel so fortunate to be part of Hyde-Addison — it’s a gem in the heart of D.C.!Parent Review6mo ago28 Reviews - Hardy Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI rate Hardy as a Great Middle School. It reflects, embraces, and has built the character of the school around the diversity of DC. There is no other middle school in DC with the breadth and depth of course offerings as Hardy. It is a smaller school while still having enough students for all students to find friends. I highly recommend Hardy!Parent Review6y ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near 2700 Q St NW #7.

"This neighbourhood is about as European a village as any place in America. You can walk everywhere for literally anything you need in day to day life (food, medicine, hospitality, entertainment, sport). It’s a largely sheltered paradise from so much urban strife that impacts other communities in and around D.C. It’s a privilege and honour to live here - and it’s an amazing place to raise “city children”. "

"I don't know because I don't have any pets in my house, but I have been seeing a lot of pets getting around and having fun with their tutors. So, I suppose it's a really good place. "

"All of the neighbors know each other on a first name basis -- from every single home on the street. I often come out on snowy mornings to find one of them has shoveled my sidewalk and stairs, or put away my trash cans. On Halloween, residents -- many in costume - sit on their doorsteps to greet trick or treaters. A truly fun and unique place to live."

"I live in this area and I love it. When you cross Dumbarton Bridge, you cross into a green, residential neighborhood, but it is within walking distance of the central business district. "
