5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe administration both principal and vice principal do not appear to care about students. During the 7th great welcoming day they were more focused on their phones than they were on welcoming new students and their parents. There are a couple of dedicated teachers but many that are phoning it in. It feels very prison-like; some of the rules are rigid.Parent Review1y ago3 Reviews - Joe Nightingale Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had deleted my first review because it was a year later but The front office is STILL high with power. They sent my kid home really sick but they are saying my kid is not excused from her coming home. We are thinking it’s just because the VP doesn’t like our kids dad. Our kids father and I literally went oh boy here we go again.Parent Review7mo ago8 Reviews - Ernest Righetti High School

"I was born and raised in Santa Maria. I’ve lived in a bunch of different places and I have never dealt with any issues with traffic or gangs or violence and I’m a single mother with a child "

"Very high rental rates and inadequate housing to meet demands. Too little parking for the amount of vehicles, street are overloaded. Shopping very limited. Traffic is getting pretty heavy for a basically bedroom type of community. High gas prices. High schools over crowded. What is good? The weather! Everyone is here for the weather! AC not needed and very little heat needed in mild winter. "

"We’re on the good side of town which is located in Orcutt. We are in the unincorporated area of Santa Maria. Santa Maria is not a desirable place to live. It has lots of crime. "

There is an abundance of illegal aliens as this is a Sanctuary City. Access to healthcare is easy. Christmas parade and classic car shows are nice."

"The neighborhood is normally nice, quiet and peaceful. Neighbors keep to themselves. We will help each out but we don’t hang out side , or laugh and joke with each other regularly. This is a working class neighborhood. We all have somewhere to be at anytime of the day. We keep an eye out for strangers and speak out if someone looks suspicious. Most neighbors keep their yards respectable...a few or undeterred"
