9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen we moved to the city, we thought that the school system would be something that matched the rest of the community. We believe that our child going to school somewhere like in San Ramon, rather than in Oakland would be beneficial for our child and her environment. However, we have been learning that San Ramon has been allowing our child to fall greatly behind and at a great cost. Iron Horse middle school does not believe in holding children back as it does more trauma in the long run, which to us was a surprise because holding children back, was that one little bit of fear that helped us parents to keep pushing our children to strive for better, but now that our children know that no matter what grade they get, they will be pushed forward no matter how far behind they are they will be pushed forward to keep falling further behind. Our kids aren’t even scared to fail anymore. Iron Horse middle school has proved to be by far one of the least recommended schools I will ever have a chance to know. I think that if you are reading this review and thinking about enrolling your child in Iron Horse middle school I would suggest you rethink the options you have available to you. The mental health of a child is much more important to the school than their assignments, classwork, and other areas that a child should be pushed to excel at. I do not believe a child should participate in any school dances. If their grades are below average, I do not believe that a child should participate in any sports if their grades are below average I do not believe that a child should have access to elective classes if their primary classes are failing however, this school pushes children to be happy instead of strive for success and this is a scary concept for children as they do not know any better and if left to decide for themselves, they would rather not do any homework or classwork, which is what this school offers the option for children to do what they want.If you are looking for a school, that will give your child a reward for participating you have found the right one, but if you are looking for a school, that will help your child succeed that will help motivate your child to do better. I ask you to look somewhere else and do it quickly. Iron Horse middle school has really disappointed me my family and I will not be recommending the school to anybody we care for.Parent Review4mo ago9 Reviews - California High School
