10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe schools is over good. Most of the other reviews are from months ago when the schools was getting newly renovated. Currently all the hall ways are fine and they have student ark work at almost every corner. They have a great library and most of the teachers are nice and are excited to teach students, and I saw most because there are some exceptions. First the Algebra 1 teachers, I will not name any names but they primary teach the 7th grade. They are rude and seem to work against students. One actually teaches but never gives helpful tricks, the other one is a disaster. Many of my peers have made remarks about how he doesn't teach, locks the door, and regularly yells at students. He also once didn't let a close friend retake a test because he didn't staple papers. I find this apalling and quite incorrect. Next the principle is quite rude and snarky. She doesn't honestly seem like she cares and wont do anything about the constant rasicm, the sexist teachers. and the constant school fights. In return she will lock bathrooms during class changes and frequently forgets to unlock the and the school admins only have the keys but usually walk away. Also many of the teachers also don't seem to care. Many are seen using phones and not helping students and these two action usually result in students having bad grades. Overall I believe Cooper Middle School is a generally ok school but, it quite flawed in many places.Student Review2mo ago16 Reviews - Langley High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageClass of 2021 here, part of the special education system with ADHD + Dyslexia. The special education team was apathetic and disinterested at best and traumatic and ableist at worst. The team had fought against me taking certain classes and fought against me working towards an advanced depolama. Too biased and a bit unprofessionally mean to certain students. I’ve caught too many scoffs, rolling eyes, and ignoring my questions. Not to mention my intelligence was being debated during parent teacher conferences, so much so that a psychiatrist had to be present, but ultimately I decided to represent myself during these meetings. How are you to scoff and roll your eyes at a child with learning challenges? The classes that the IEP team strongly advised me against taking ended up being the most motivating and accommodating class settings purely out of the teachers own kindness towards the student and passion for their position.IEP team, please save your frustrations and negative attitudes and do not put it onto neurodivergent students. They aren’t stupid and can sense your anger.Do your job like how you described in the interview process and treat these kids with more care and kindness. They’re in the phase where everything you do will affect them for life.Other Review2y ago46 Reviews - Forestville Elementary School

"There are a lot of playgrounds and walkable areas for kids to get around relatively safely. Some people drive too fast but it’s not too bad in the neighborhoody areas."

"I’ve lived here for 5 yrs and LOVE it ! Great neighbors, wooded/shaded paths , easy walk to Exclusive North Village Center for dinner, groceries, wine, ice cream, etc . Easy walks to Aldrin Elementary, and Gorgeous Lake Newport and it’s multimillion $ home’s . Beautifully designed Z-Townhomes that look just as current today as they did when the cluster was built . It looks like a ski village with its twinkling lampposts at the end of every driveway ."

"Easy access to Wiehle metro, making Wiehle to Ballston metro pretty easy. Maybe 45-50 minutes, including time spent driving to the metro, waiting for a train and getting to Ballston. "

"Where I live is one of the greatest neighborhoods in the city to live in; however it does have its drawbacks. Importantly, it has nearly everything a resident might want, beautiful picturesque scenery, proximity to shopping, and many of the cultural centers."

"There's access to the metro. It's an easy commute, either driving or by bus, it's less than 2 miles. If you're driving 267 and 7, they are both easily accessible, too."

"My neighborhood is kind of hidden so It can be far to get to and from sometimes. The quickest route to go anywhere is Route 7, which is right down the street from where I live."

"It's a very woodsy area and there are a lot of stores to go to near the area. Everyone is pretty busy here so it's common that you don't see the neighbors."

"We love Lake Anne and all of the great restaurants and businesses there. There is always a community event worth heading over for and it just has a great community feel. In addition to great businesses, we also have paths and trails right outside our door, so really it's the best of both worlds."

"It's a great neighborhood for kids, they're everywhere and it feels safe. My upper elementary age kids can ride bikes to friends' houses, basketball courts and three pool on their own without ever crossing a busy street, thanks to the great paths and tunnels and bridges. It's a great place to raise a family."

"Pedestrians, strollers, cyclists, skaters all take over the streets. It is hard to drive a car with the busy traffic. The schools actually rank fifth from the bottom of all of Fairfax County schools. It is the reason that you don't see many children in Reston - people move to other districts entirely. While some homes are nice, most are getting to be dated and putting homes in clusters just looks odd. Even older neighborhoods like Falls Church and Arlington all have bigger properties and wider roads."

"You can't ask for a better neighborhood! Everyone knows each other, takes great care of their property and lawns, have neighborhood block parties - and just hang out on weekend nights with the adults having a few beers while the kids play in the culdesacs. VERY safe and peaceful, yet only walking distance from the Reston Town Center where there's top notch shopping, dining and evenst. An extensive bike/walking trail around Reston and the great summer camps and other organized programs Reston has to offer - along with the impeccable Fairfax County School system - makes this an ideal place to live. I work in Washington, DC, and the commute takes about 45 minutes each way (I have a hybrid so can use the HOV lanes and I66). We've lived here for 9 years - with 2 kids and 2 dogs - and have loved every moment of it!"
