5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen we first moved here based on the reviews, I was worried to send my kid here. Now that she has graduated and saw first hand how it runs, I'm glad we did. First, if your an engaged parent that doesn't believe the world revolves around your kid (your child is part of the world), and excuse their bad behavior, than your kid can thrive here. Our kiddo took advantage of the West Sound Tech program and she loved it. She did her hard classes in her freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years so she could really enjoy her Senior year with less pressure. She loved the art teacher and how he pushed each kids creativity. My kid was a teacher's assistant for the elementary librarian, and just loved her. On the downsize the class sizes may be a bit too large based on how several kids act out in classes. It feels like there is a small but growing culture of parents who enable their children's bad behavior and expect the school to accommodate it, and they (kids & their parents) throw fits if they dont get what they want.I am not a fan of not holding children (people in general) accountable for bad behavior, and I do look forward to when the pendulum swings back center as a culture, but I'll leave it at this. If your child is respectful, does what is asked of them, and you are an engaged parent, your kid will do just fine here.Parent Review2y ago9 Reviews - Chimacum Creek Primary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience with the school and its teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. The classrooms maintain an excellent student-to-teacher ratio, ensuring personalized attention for each child. My children, who have IEPs through the district, have benefited greatly from the clear and consistent communication provided by the SLP, OT, and educators.I absolutely love that gardening is part of the curriculum. It not only offers hands-on science learning but also keeps the children highly engaged and enthusiastic. The PTA, although small, does a fantastic job focusing on the children's needs and prioritizing their well-being.Overall, we've had a wonderful experience across all grade levels, and we couldn't be happier with the school's dedication and the care provided by its outstanding teachers.Parent Review1y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near Prospect Ave.

"I work in Port Angeles. The commute is easy, but tough on the wallet. Port Townsend was the only thing I could find with multiple pets, but I love it here!"

"It’s very expensive to live here with minimal job opportunities. More of a retirement option and tourism location "

"There is very little cultural, racial or social diversity in Port Townsend and the age demographic is skewed towards seniors and retirees. This is a sleepy community with very little available for adolescents or college aged kids. "

"Easy to get downtown. A lot of the population live a few miles outside of downtown area. A 25 mph speed limit is strictly reinforced in all of downtown. "

"My neighbourhood has great access to Uptown or Downtown. There are no sidewalks or bike lanes on the street in front of my house. The side streets have sidewalks."

"My mom lived in this area for several years and it was like a sanctuary to visit. The neighborhood is quiet and there is a local park, walking trails through the woods, and even a duck pond."

"The schools are excellent, folks are friendly, climate is mild. Did I mention that "eccentric" means tastefully artistic for both poor and rich households. And did I mention that there is always a festival "right around the corner." (My favorite is the PT FIlm Festival.) Internationally known, affordable, and oh so beautiful, this is one small town that never grows boring. Change of pace? Seattle is an hour away and just down the Sound by ferry, small plane or auto. "If you can dream it, you can do it in Port Townsend. Good schools, transportation, sports, nightlife, and many, many opportunities to grow. We've got three organic farmer's markets, two great libraries, several movie theaters, a vibrant maritime community *and* "small plane friendly" international airport with fly-in cafe. Good restaurants, neighbors and very low crime rate. What's *not* to like about this town?"

"This location at Nroth Beach in particular is excellent for families and retirees, with beaches and parks only a couple blocks away it offers ample recreation and fresh clean air from the Straits of Juan de Fuca just a few minutes walking distance from your doorstep. Close to shoping and restaurants, schools, healthcare, Centrum workshops at Fort Worden State Park, and more."
