5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with this school is horrible. My son is EC with an IEP that no one follows. The school administration, teachers, and staff are abysmal with parent communication, racial bias, and consistency in standards. My student is not the only one with this experience. Teachers and administration blowing off conferences and waiting until testing time to care about grades. The standards here are not what I expect out of any school.Parent Review1mo ago15 Reviews - Southern Pines Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have 2 children at SPES who initially attended a local private school for multiple years of preschool and kindergarten. We are pleased with the experienced teachers at SPES, as well as the great ratio of students to teachers and the availability of Pre-K on campus. Our child was able to be screened for the gifted program and for speech therapy easily and quickly. The new building is exceptional, especially the media center. The school leadership and teachers communicate well with parents. Our children have gotten out of the neighborhood bubble and now have friends with different abilities, skin color, family makeup, and financial situations. This was not the case in the private school they attended. Our children do not get assigned homework (yet?).Parent Review4y ago7 Reviews - Southern Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m very concerned about how this school is handling behavior and student safety. My daughter no longer feels safe or comfortable in class because disruptive and bullying behavior is often ignored. It’s clear that teachers are hesitant to address certain students’ actions, and that hesitation seems to stem from fear of being labeled as racist — since most of the teachers are white and many of the students causing issues are Black. This has created an environment where inappropriate behavior is tolerated, and students who want to learn are the ones who suffer. No teacher should feel afraid to enforce rules fairly, and no student should feel unsafe or distracted because the classroom is out of control.I hope the faculty address these issues soon.Parent Review8mo ago12 Reviews - Check out schools near 0-18A Pinehurst Mnr.

"We’ve lived here almost 2 years. Love our location and family neighborhood. We’re in Village acres and we’re also not far from Taylortown or Pinehurst Village. We are golfers, however my husbands recovery from major back surgery last year has put our golf on hold. But there are lots of golf carts driving on our roads to their tee times! It’s great!"

"There are a lot of pet owners in the neighborhood. People really like dogs and stop to say hi. There is not a fenced dog park and very few doggy/bag stations."

"I've lived here now 7 months and we love it. Neighbors are super friendly and always helpful. Love that you see your neighbors either walking their dogs or pushing a stroller. I especially like that when you drive by someone, they wave hello. Great family friendly neighborhood! Lots of kids! "

"It takes me about 15 minutes to get to work, 7 miles. The traffic circle usually takes the most time but there’s also a stop light along the way. "
