5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would rate my experience at this school as one star, coming from an academically-oriented point of view. The only admirable emphasis this school has academically is making sure students get into college, which appears on the surface to be a worthy cause but, upon closer inspection, obviously has some flaws. This school is characterized by a lack of promotion of talented students and an ingrained structure against promoting the intellectual development of its students; most likely, this can be attributed to a corrupt incentive structure. I would highly advise looking for other options if you are a parent of an up-and-coming smart child; this is not the place for you. As for children with other primary interests (band, football, etc.) this may very well be a place he or she thrives, but at the expense of any real intellectual development, he or she may have developed while attending a school with non-corrupt incentives. Albeit, there are many amazing teachers at this school, but they are often filtered out, so there is no consistency except in the teachers of liberal arts subjects that seem to have permanent seats.Other Review7y ago6 Reviews - Pilot Point Selz Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhat a blessing it is to have my child come home from school everyday with a positive attitude and excited to tell me about her day. I love hearing about her teachers, how fun and creative they can be, how they laugh together and how she feels they are approachable. It says a lot when the teachers are happy and positive in their classrooms; it tells me that they have a good thing going on there. I had heard such great things about Principal Toth and I can honestly say it's all true; he has really turned this school around. Middle School can be the toughest years in ones life but for us, my child is having a great experience that is helping to shape her into what I expect to be a loving and caring citizen in our community.Other Review10y ago2 Reviews - Pilot Point Intermediate School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is lacking in good leadership. The Vice Principal appears to be running the show - which has sadly taken this school in the wrong direction. There are some really good teachers, ones who appear to actually love their job, but the teachers who are bad are unapproachable, appear to not like children, and some actually bully the children. While my child was not generally at the receiving end of the bullying, it was witnessed and troubled my child greatly. Some teachers have no filter...they share information that is not always appropriate for children. I was saddened that my child had been exposed to music with inappropriate lyrics, R rated images, and adult subjects such as rape - not from other students, but from teachers. On the upside, I have to recognize that the good teachers were really really good. They were approachable, creative, consistent, communicative, and truly caring. I pray this school turns things around very soon!Parent Review10y ago1 Reviews - Check out schools near 23 Massey Rd.

"The main road out is absolutely horrible with traffic during the week. And during the school year, forget about it. And people drive like they have no sense. I love my neighborhood but could do without the commute. "

"Traffic is very bad and they are just building more and not improving roads. There need to be improvements before more homes are built. "

"It’s very friendly and country living style. You drive around and there is still plenty of ranches with cows and farm animals, it feels so good to drive around and see farm animals. The new neighborhood that are building look really nice, and they have trails and playgrounds for kids to play. "

"My commute is great, 20 mins if I get on the Tollway and 30 mins if I take 380 to 423. 380 can be somewhat of a nightmare sometimes but overall it’s not that bad."

"I have lived here for over 20 years in the old downtown area. In the downtown Aubrey Park the city has festivals during all times of the year. Aubrey also has a great school system."

"Remember, I live in the Historical area of Aubrey, which is growing! This is the place to be at the monument. People (unfortunately) are passing and a number of younger people are taking over renovating the older homes. This little (big) city is dividing into an bigger area around the Dallas Tollway (FRISCO, Crossroads’s, etc.. area) all of which used to be all Aubery. Around the historical area there are still horse farms and the schools here are Fantastic! The people here are wonderful and I cannot say enough about the wonderful place we live! I enjoy Aubrey with all of its growth! All around us! My sixteen year old is getting the best of both worlds. I hope it doesn’t get much bigger ( haha) we will have to move north to Era. Where the cows still roam. Enjoy Aubrey it’s a wonderful, bright, loving place to bring your family, your business, and all your ideas! We love people and newness NOW! It’s growing by leaps and bounds. Come to Texas and learn the way New Texas is growing. I found out Texas is never too old to learn. "

"It would be really nice if Aubrey would put in a dog park. There are a lot of dogs in old Aubrey. The people here in the old section of Aubrey keep their dogs pretty much inside their yards and they are friendly. "

"Downtown old Aubrey has a park that does all sort of festivals. The biggest one is the Peanut Festival because Aubrey used to grow peanuts. Notwithstanding, all throughout the year Aubrey has festivals in summer, fall, winter, and spring."

"The old neighborhood is a wonderful place to bring up your children. They can leave their bikes in the yard and find friends if they walk around. The Chaparral’s (Aubrey) schools the best. "

"We live in old downtown area one block from the water department and their is a park next to it. They have a lot of little festivals there and we can hear it from our historical house. Also, there are parades at Holidays. This is a wonderful little town. "

"Been here ten years. You can tell who is from the area because they are friendly and neighborly. People who aren’t, don’t come outside and don’t talk to anyone. Other than that I fee extremely safe in the community. We have community Facebook pages to help keep people in the loop. HOA can be a bit too much on the rules at times. I wish more people interacted. We used to have block parties but now nothing. Not sure if it’s the people or the HOA rules."

"I hate the road we live on, a very busy highway. Things have built up around us in the two years we’ve been here and now have many fun restaurants and shops. "
