8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had a fabulous experience with our daughter at PS 87. She is in third grade now and has loved her teachers every year.In 1st grade she was able to receive some extra supports in reading, and in 2nd grade it was math. She is above grade level in both subjects now.The Afterschool program is also great overall - she's been able to do cooking, chess, computers, engineering, archery and more and comes home from school every day excited about the new activities. The social cohesion has also been a bonus - I have a great relationship with other parents in the class and we regularly schedule playdates and class activities on the weekends. We've had not issues with bullying or other serious issues in the classroom.Highly recommend!Parent Review2mo ago29 Reviews - Ms 245 The Computer School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is such a disappointment. I've had 2 kids go through this school. One of them had a horrible experience with bullying and exclusion. And the other, was completely mislabeled and never given a fair chance despite his high test scores. There is zero transparency and the teachers have the worst possible principal to lead them. She has zero regard for ethics, empathy, kindness and respect. If your child's teacher is ineffective and you have concerns, be prepared to have those concerns completely disregarded. CS will make you feel like you are the problem just for advocating for your child. It's so unfortunate, but unless you know these people personally for years and years, your child does not stand a chance. There is one degree of separation between everyone on this staff. Are you looking for a supportive, up to date school environment that offers differentiated instruction or a one size fits all education? If you're looking for the former, save your child years of a toxic, unhealthy environment and stay far away. Also, just like every other NYC school, MS245(cs) is over capacity with no intention of updating their facilities.Parent Review3mo ago15 Reviews - The Global Learning Collaborative

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended Global Learning Collaborative and my experience was deeply troubling. The school consistently failed to support students with different abilities — accommodations were minimal or nonexistent and staff often dismissed students’ needs. Respect and professionalism felt absent: teachers and administrators were frequently disrespectful toward students and parents. Most alarmingly, the gym teacher repeatedly used highly offensive language toward female students. His in-class music choices are also inappropriate for a school setting (I have video evidence).I reported problems multiple times, but the response was inadequate and dismissive. I don’t feel this environment is safe or nurturing for learners, especially those who need extra support. Families should be aware and ask detailed questions before enrolling. I sincerely hope the district investigates these issues and takes decisive action to protect students.Other Review8mo ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 132 W 78th St #1.
