6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStanhope Elmore has improved each year that I've been involved with them dating back to 2008. At times they have been underfunded as many County schools can be but the teachers worked hard to ensure the students were taking care of and did not lack for the important educational tools. For several years they did have administrative issues and administrator turnover. In 2015, I hope I can honestly say that is finally over. The rooms have technology that many private schools do not. Students can be involved with programs such as robotics, various sports, academic programs, and various after school programs. I do wish at times students themselves took a little more responsibility for their education. With that said, I am proud of the leaps forward that Stanhope Elmore has made.Other Review10y ago4 Reviews - Coosada Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are a military family coming from Georgia and only here for one school year before heading to Maryland which has a very advanced curriculum. Initially we were hesitant about enrolling our daughter into Coosada Elementary. We had moved from a very "test" oriented school, one of the "best" in Georgia, meaning that the school would focus mainly on the more advanced students who performed better in math and reading. We had a very difficult kindergarten year in Ga. I am a firm believer that an EXCEPTIONAL teacher will teach in the way that a student learns and not expect all children to fit a convenient mold. Luckily we got an excellent first grade teacher who put a lot of extra time and effort in with our daughter but she was still a little behind the curve in reading fluency going into second grade. We were initially concerned that our daughter would not receive enough support here to make sure she was prepared to move into the Maryland school system for 3rd grade. I have to say that our concerns could not have been more unfounded. Tomorrow is the last day of the school year here and we are very sad to be leaving. My daughter's teacher, Ms. Stallworth was completely amazing. I have never seen a more committed and caring teacher. Not only did our daughter keep pace, she has excelled in Ms. Stallworth's class. Our daughter tested into mid-year 4th grade math and was tested and accepted into the Gifted program for Elmore county. I credit Ms. Stallworth's teaching abilities and her complete devotion to her students for our daughter's outstanding progress this year. Our daughter is an exceptionally smart and creative little girl but her experiences in her previous school had really put a dent in her self-confidence in regards to learning. I am very happy to say that is no longer the case. Ms. Stallworth is that rare teacher that does indeed teach in the way that a student learns. I am forever grateful to her for being such an exceptional teacher and for her complete and total devotion to her students. The school is excellent, the children are HAPPY to be there, everyone is exceptionally kind and the Principal and all of the staff at Coosada Elementary are exemplary. We could not have ask for a better experience this school year.Parent Review10y ago7 Reviews - Millbrook Middle Jr High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are fights every single day, vaping once in a while, and bullying. I dont recommend this school. There are so many disrespectful kids, fighting, swearing so much, bullying, etc. If you try to defend yourself you get called to the office and go to ECAP. This school is similar to a juvenile detention center.Student Review3y ago9 Reviews - Airport Road Intermediate School

"Love it here. I feel completely safe and I know my neighbors! We keep an eye out for each other. I fell in my yard last winter and before I could even think about what happened, one of my neighbors was there. "

"what's great about this areas is that if you don't live here, there's no need to be here so it's not a thru-fare. unfortunately, they're are people that live here that are idiots because they speed and litter, but I guess those tires are everywhere, but there's way more good than bad"

"Great area for feeling like you're out away from town without being too far from conveniences. Very quiet dead end neighborhood with very friendly neighbors. Easy access to interstate. Less than an hour to Montgomery or Birmingham for big city entertainment."

"Neighborhood has a park with covered dining area, walking track, nature walk by small creek. Low traffic area affords longer walks throughout the beautiful homes and lanes. All accessible by golf cart or bycycle. Quiet and clear at night with lamp posts lit along the homes."
