9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal is a mess like some folks mention and the Gifted program a joke. Years ago “gifted” learners were those that excelled academically and were capable of sitting quietly for instruction. These days, if the kids pass a test, they get in. Many with learning disabilities in the program interrupt the learning environment and engage in bullying. The teachers turn a blind eye and the principal’s response is “everyone’s equal.” Not so. By allowing those mentally/emotionally challenged students who continuously interrupt the learning environment, you’re taking the rights away of those children who do not have these issues. Such a shame. It used to be a good school but it’s headed in the wrong direction.Parent Review1y ago23 Reviews - Hammocks Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school doesn't really care about the well-being of a student academically. The teachers are somewhat engaging, and some don't teach well. Every day I'm discouraged to learn because of the way the school is. I wouldn't recommend your child stress I have as an 8th grader, I shouldn't have to stress about how I'm going to get my homework done late at night because teachers don't put into consideration that we have 6 classes. Too much stress as a kid and the teachers don't make me enjoy going there.Student Review3y ago13 Reviews - Felix Varela Senior High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI made the difficult decision to move my son out of Varela during his senior year because of a very disappointing experience he had on the boys volleyball team during his junior year. Despite being dedicated and passionate about the sport, he was treated unfairly. It was clear this was because he chose not to join the Miami United club team.It is disheartening to see high school athletics affected by outside affiliations and favoritism. A school team should be about school spirit, teamwork, and recognizing talent based on merit, not pressure to join specific clubs.I hope Varela takes a serious look at how its programs are being run and focuses on putting students’ experiences and development first. No student should feel excluded or overlooked for making personal choices outside of school.Parent Review10mo ago19 Reviews - Check out schools near 22-17 N Kendall Dr.

"You should get to know the association and do your research, be committed to being involved otherwise you may not be satisfied. The neighborhood is pretty good although we’ve always had multiple issues with the association over the years. "
