As a parent of a child with disabilities, I want other families to be aware of the importance of carefully reviewing documentation, especially when it involves behavior, safety, supervision, and IEP decisions.My experience with North Miami Elementary has raised serious concerns about inconsistent documentation, disability-related needs being described without full context, and parent concerns not being fully reflected in the process. I have reviewed records that appear inconsistent with one another, and I became concerned that certain documentation could create an inaccurate perception of my child if not reviewed carefully.Parents should understand that behavior documentation matters. Referrals, behavior logs, FBAs, BIPs, IEP drafts, meeting notes, and emails can all affect how a child is viewed and what supports are provided. If documentation leaves out disability-related context, safety needs, communication needs, supports attempted, or parent input, that can be harmful.I encourage parents to request records in writing, review every document, ask for corrections when something is inaccurate, request meeting notes, and ask for Prior Written Notice when decisions are made or refused.This review is based on my experience and my concerns as a parent. I believe families deserve transparency, accurate documentation, meaningful parent participation, and careful handling of children with disabilities.

Terrible school. They dropped the ball with my childs enrollment from the start, not including me in important communications from the school.. then blaming me for it not being in place when i had opted for it and given all my info. Not communicating with me or notifying me when they had my child's belongings searched due to accusing her of something she didnt have. I had to find out from my daughter after school. They will not lift a finger for any services without you taking hours off of work and standing in front of them staring at them to make them do it. Currently dealing with this for my childs physical to be scheduled as her new school needs it. So as a single mom i have to cut my pay because they say i cant schedule it any other way but meeting with a single person from 9am-12am..... Some staff there have shown signs of racism toward white people. The staff has bullied my child, calling her names for a mistake she had made in the past and had learned from. The staff would proceed to laugh when other kids joined in. Teachers have been rude and cold toward my child and made it very difficult for her to feel cared for or like she could reach out. There was only one teacher who was kind to her and I. Mr. La Coa. He is the only reason for the one extra star. Other than that, absolutely terrible experience and just happy my child is moving on to highschool.

Absolutely terrible, don’t bring your kids to this school.
