7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated from this high school just after the Covid epidemic. The school enviroment provided a lot of opportunity and an diverse set of classes. Ideally, the school was meant to set you up for college. However, the biggest downside was the counseling, which was always hard to work with or even get an appointment to. They should have also encouraged more hands on experience for how to apply to colleges or financial aide in the futute. Otherwise, the teachers were all quite supportive, and student engagement with clubs were incredibly high.Other Review2y ago8 Reviews - Cedarwood Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe scenery is the best value of the premise. That's the good news but another reason why you're reading this is to hear my criticism about this school. There are two issues, one as being of social status. The school barely had any clubs for the students to attend. I know what you're thinking, its a small community and school it's supposed to not be much. But don't the small ones get to have many clubs and activities as well? Another being of the students itself. I know, you don't need a lot of friends to have an enjoyable experience in school and I enjoyed and appreciated the friends I had but since I'm lack of social skills due to my high-functioning autism, keeping it cool with others wasn't easy. I got a lot of unwanted attention from my other little known peers due to my ticks. If any of you people who have been living under a rock, let me tell you a little about autism. The Autism spectrum disorder(different ability as I like to call it) is a "disorder" of not communicating well to others or performing actions that are not socially acceptable. Now that autism thing is out of the way, I shall proceed. I wasn't the guy that people found interesting to communicate to, in fact I was pretty much the opposite by being pushed aside out of big opportunities that could of been vital, or maybe I'm exaggerating. I wish I could tell you more about my experience but I gotta rest my cranium for the day, signing off.Other Review10y ago10 Reviews - Children's Community Charter School

"Its generally a nice safe area. Living in the trees feels like your camping all the time. I wouldn’t walk by myself at night because of the wildlife, not the people"

"Dog owners often walk their dogs, usually on a leash. Friendly neighbors, peace and quiet make this a wonderful place to live. "

"We survived the 2018 camp fire that ended up burning almost all of the town of paradise. Along with about half of our town Magalia. That brings us closer than we use to be."

"Most events used to take place in the neighboring town of Paradise until it burned down. They had a farmers markets 2 days a week. And a few annual events. But it will all come back again"

"Pretty much a quiet neighborhood. You have you’re usual few people whose dogs get out. But if you want to hit the trail, there’s a great walking trail off Carnegie that takes you to a year round creek. A nice walk thru the forest, but make sure you bring protection, after all, it is the woods, and really don’t know what critters are there. Even Sasquatch maybe....lol"

"I’m retired. No commute necessary anymore. To get to Chico on a busy day takes about 1/2 or so. Depends where you’re going to in town. Other than all the dump trucks and equipment being used because of the Camp Fire clean up, traffic is usually pretty light for the most part."

"It’s pretty quiet and safe. Most of the neighbors are pretty nice and willing to help you out. Mostly retired and older couples. Nice “home” feel to the area. "

" The many trees in the neighborhood which makes it also a fire hazard!! So against possible community rumbles and the true environmentalists who love trees every 2” away from, it would be advisable to plant trees further from each other apart. Then I would like my neighborhood and I would like to stay. But nothing is done in that direction and I will leave this area as soon my house will sell. "

"My neighborhood is pretty much the only one left standing after the Camp fire. It’s as beautiful as ever until we drive to Chico through what’s left of Magalia and Paradise. So, the commute is the worst part of living here. "

"it is beautiful here, and good people, but some criminal element and drug users. There used to be good restaurants before the fire. Hopefully they will reopen soon."

"There are many homes in the area but there is little other than that. It is a quiet and relaxed environment to raise children. This is a very rural community."

"We moved here from a larger city in Southern California a little over a year ago. Magalia is so much safer of a town than I am used to. Small town vibe in a small town"

"With DSL in the home My Husband can work from home. Within 3 miles are all emergency services. Neighborhood Watch has been set up in the area for a safer community. Forest get-a-way appeal with City amenities near by. "

"Located in the sierra foothills Magalia has Just enough snow to make it fun in Winter. So much cooler in Summer. Gorgeous fall and Spring A Major hospital close by, plenty of doctors, small and large markets, Rite Aid, 4 gas stations, hair salons and if you purchase in the Paradise Pines Association, a large pool and year round activities that celebrate. Holidays...size of Magalia is not too small and not too big ."

"Great community, working people, families and retirees. Has association with many activities, golf, tennis, swimming. Lakes and streams nearby. Convenient shopping, groceries are expensive, better shopping in Chico."
