The schools in Ignacio are terrible. I was a student from K-12, and my education suffered, big time. Few of the teachers care, the cirriculum is bogus, I got NO help when I tried to talk to a counselor about college options, and was told throughout high school I wasn't worth the effort because I "wasn't going to graduate anyway". I learned most things on my own, outside of the schools. I WANTED to learn - they just don't have much to offer.

"Long, timely, lots of gas $. Pretty drive if you don’t mind spending time in a car. And also fine if you don’t have to take too many trips into Durango. Bayfields amenities are limited. "

"Live here in Bayfield, used to work in Durango. All comments are for Bayfield. Durango is about 25 miles away and has great shopping and restaurants. One can drive to Durango on the highway or on the beautiful back roads. We always prefer the back roads."
