4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm the parent of a 14-year-old student at Jarrell High School. Well, on Monday, I got a call — not from school, but from a social worker at a hospital in Temple, almost 30 minutes away — stating my child had been transported to the hospital as a minor, without the presence of a legal guardian. I was not only caught by surprise but also terrified because no one from school had told me that my child would be going to the hospital. There are hospitals within 10 minutes of the high school, but my child was taken outside the district and even outside Williamson County. No one from the school contacted me before or during this emergency, and that alone is unacceptable. The incident began when another student had been bullying my child, posting videos, calling them names, like "gay" and other slurs. Out of frustration, my child did swing toward the other student but did not make contact, something confirmed by the school's own video footage. Yet, this did not stop the school's enforcement officer from alleging there was an assault when there was zero evidence and then going on to arrest my child. In that arrest, my 100-pound child was handled in such an aggressive manner that he sustained a concussion and injuries to his back. The doctors at the hospital confirmed these were injuries consistent with a physical assault. My child wasn’t violent; my child was terrified. He simply tried to back away from the officer out of fear.I am deeply disappointed and angry how Jarrell High School handled the situation: failing to notify me, sending my child out of the county without consent, and letting an officer use excessive force on a minor. No parent should ever find out through a hospital that their child has been hurt in this way. This whole experience has shaken my trust in the school's capability to keep students safe or communicate serious incidents with the family.Parent Review6mo ago10 Reviews - Jarrell Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI used to be a student here last year and let me tell you this school is NOT the school you want your kids to be in, once a teacher lashed out on a student and threw a highlighter at the student later the student had to move schools, and I used to have that teacher and she could never keep her anger in she always lashed out on us (the students). Not only that but there was fights every week is that really the type of school you want your kids to be in? the type of school that can NEVER control their students? I have now moved schools and one of my teachers I have told me she used to work at jarrell middle school and she heard the staff say they "don't believe in bullying" how can anyone say that when as of right now bulling is the highest its ever been especially with social media now days kids kill themselves BECAUSE of BULLING. Instead of dealing with the kids they just give you ISS for literally everything and anything. and there is so much more I need to say about this school but I cant fit it all in here so I am just going to leave it at that. I will not be coming back to this school.Other Review2mo ago3 Reviews - Igo Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attends Igo. He has made very good progress while at the school. His teachers send home work relevant to his goals so I can help him practice at home. In kindergarten my son was struggling to learn letter sounds and this year he is reading words. His behavior has improved and he has more confidence.Parent Review1y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 127 Nassau Cir NW.

"This is a retirement community & is probably far safe than the average neighborhood. However street lights are NOT bright &very few homes leave lights on at their garage or front door overnight & most outdoor lights are dim."

"Sun City has a dog park for small and large dogs. It also has a pet club. I personally have a very cranky neighbor who does not like hearing dogs bark, and that has been a problem for a couple of us in our neighborhood."

"Dog owners love living here. Walking trails, sidewalks, and a dog park create a lot of dog-walking options. Dogs like to stick their head out of the golf cart while their owner drives."

"We have two pet parks, with a fence diving them. One side is for small dogs, and the other side is for larger dogs. We see residents walking their dogs at all times of the day."

"Sun City is a very dog-friendly community, and there are many sidewalks and nature trails for people to walk their dogs. In addition, there is a very nice dog park with separate areas for dogs of different sizes, where you can let your dog run free and play with the other dogs."

"Since we are a senior adult community, few residents need to commute to work. But Georgetown is a nice sized town that is now fast growing. The nearest grocery store is less than five miles away. There are shopping areas less than 10 miles away, and health facilities are also nearby."

"Traffic is getting heavier all the time, as it is in all of Williamson and Travis counties. However, there is continuous improvement in the roadways, which helps, and for the most part it is a pleasant drive."

"I enjoy the lifestyle and being with people my age and with my interests. There are plenty of things to do. . . it's like a cruise ship on land! At monthly driveway socials, everyone in the neighborhood gets together to visit and share a little food. Frequently we have a live band or some other type of entertainment."

"It's a very active community with about every activity you can think of. Sun City is broken down into individual neighborhoods. The neighborhood we live in is very active with activities organized by a neighborhood social committee, including wine tasting, lunch bunch, scotch tasting, men's and ladies' golf, and card games. Each neighborhood is also broken down into three blocks, and individual blocks also have their own activities, like golf, cribbage, wine tasting, social committee activities."

I like the feeling of living in a safe environment and the cleanliness of the common grounds. Neighbors are friendly and help when needed."

"Children may not be year-round residents, per covenants. They can visit and even stay for long periods, but, with the exception of the one-week summer camps, there are no activities or play areas provided for them. For grandparents, consider getting a house with the extra bedroom or loft as a play area."

"Wonderful place to live. Quiet, safe, with many things to do for active retirees 55+ or older. We have three golf courses and two activity centers with full exercise facilities and swimming pool both covered, indoor heated and outdoor. Many hobbie shops and activities clubs to join like bocce and tennis and golf-- also arts & crafts etc. "
