6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been at Spicer for three years and I could not be happier. I drive over 60 miles round trip daily for this school. The faculty and administrators are wonderful and the school is safe and clean. They have a phenomenal PTA and lots of fun events throughout the year. Students always seem happy and engaged and WANT to come to school. I have both volunteered and subbed at this campus and have loved it. I am very active on campus and can personally speak to the safety and security measures in place. No parent wants to worry when dropping their child off for school and at Spicer you won't have to. I have taken the district safely trainings and been present on campus during a lockdown drill, and wow. Safety is definitely a TOP priority at this campus, especially with the addition of our wonderful SRO. We are so thankful of her presence, not only for safety but as a role model for the students. Academically, my child is testing above grade level, as are others in the same class. While my child have always been "ahead" of others, Spicer recognizes and fosters those with gifted/talented abilities. This school has two PreK classrooms as well as two ECSE classrooms. It warms my heart as a parent and educator to see the love and care this school provides for even the youngest of learners. Each child is valued and respected, and each child is taught and knows they are important. Spicer is very much anti-bullying and this is reiterated to the students throughout the year. With two guidance counselors on campus, there is always someone able to assist any student who may be experiencing big emotions or any other need. BISD and JD Spicer participate in Conscious Discipline and positive redirection. As an educator myself I am thrilled with this as it aligns with my own beliefs and educational philosophies. I could not be happier with an elementary school, and I am so honored that my child can be a part of the JD Spicer family. The Spicer School motto is together we can, this is evident every single day. Together we can make a difference, Together We Can Make a Better future, Together We can do this for our children and Future Colts.Parent Review1y ago21 Reviews - Check out schools near 4700 Fossil Vis #1305.

"There is Lots of traffic and it gets very overwhelming, specially during the heavy traffic hours. Some neighbors are sketchy but the people who own their homes and have lived here much longer are very friendly and respectful. "
