6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGarfield is more than just a school. It’s a supportive and vibrant community where children thrive and grow. I’m grateful my children attend such a wonderful school. We are not Spanish speaking family, but bilingual family. Kids are thriving and learning different culture and language. I think it is great if you willing to stick to the program at least 3 years. Kids caught up their grade level after 2/3 years in proficiency in Spanish. As a parent and volunteer, I’ve seen firsthand how the school values every student’s unique background and promotes a sense of belonging. The educators also genuinely caring individuals who build strong relationships with students and families. Garfield elementary has sense of community and kids feel belong there. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen I was in sixth grade here, the cops got called because two kids were fighting, and a teacher got knocked out trying to help. They offered no diversity for counselors; there were only males there. It was one of the worst schools I've seen, not only because it's a transition age, but also because of the lack of support I felt. The "student center" is a bad solution to behavior management. You get one major referral, and they take you for lunch, and you sit in a room with other kids, in silence. And it feels like the people who run the student center don't care about the students more than getting the money for their job. I had some great teachers there, and there were some great and fun times. The school offered some cool classes like astronomy, underwater robotics, etc. It also has a problem I see occurring a lot, really off-putting P.E teachers. Had us do stretches that were uncomfortable and exposing. I only had 2 P.E teachers, but one freaked me out so much I had to ask to be switched to another class. To conclude, Linus Pauling Middle School is not recommended in my opinion. I've heard that they're going to do over the school entirely and rename it to Corvallis Junior High, having only 7th and 8th grade at that school and combining 6th grade with elementary schools. So, I'm not sure how this school will end up, but my experience overall was not the greatest.Other Review1mo ago4 Reviews - Corvallis High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child is in their second year at CHS and we’ve found the staff to be attentive and engaging. They really listen to parents concerns and there’s no tolerance for bullying. This school is fiercely supportive of the Safeway and equity of each and every student. Many AP and honors classes that are challenging and engage our teen. Lots of wonderful extracurricular and the sports are fantastic too!Parent Review2y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 317 NW 27th St #1.

"Side streets are good for walking dogs, however, the main roads can be quite busy with fast traffic. There are no public spaces nearby to exercise dogs but backyards are generally spacious. "

"There are some beautiful bikes and paths to bring your dog but lots of people walk their dogs off leash around here. "

"There are a large number of dog friendly parks, hiking trails, and river access points in the area. They’re almost all within a 10-15 minute drive of central Corvallis, and the other dog owners in the area are generally very friendly and helpful. "

"Always plan to drive for a half an hour in order to get around the campus or through it. There's a lot of bad drivers around during the school year but the traffic reduces once school gets out for summer. "
