"Very quiet community with nice and respectful people/neighbors while it’s also known to the beautiful Mountain View’s."
  • Trulia User
"Ski resort with many outdoor activities for summer & winter, including hiking , biking , and dining . Very friendly environment with a lot of welcoming people from all over . Great public transportation as well for all over Steamboat springs . Lots of dining choices in different prices & cuisines . "
  • Alice H.
"Very private & safe ! A lot of families and also older retirees . Beautiful place to live and raise children & pets !"
  • Trulia User
"Fairly convenient to downtown unless we are experiencing one of our frequent road closures. As more houses are being built, traffic is getting worse going on and off the mountain due to the fragile and dated infrastructure."
  • Lisa M.
"Small quaint town. Very homey feel. Whole town parades for homecoming. Small shops run by locals. Excellent elementary and middle/high schools. "
  • Bsnemt
"The is a safe well established neighborhood. It has great parks and shopping. The schools are great."
  • Mario
"There are a lot of kids around, parks and great schools here, lot of thing to do around. People are very friendly"
  • Stephanie L. K.
"Small town tucked in the mountain just 15 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Family friendly and great community."
  • Alf70448
"I live on Carriage Hill and the neighbors are friendly and we actually stop and talk with each other, yards are frequently mowed, neighbors exercise, walking their dogs and picking up after them, yearly bbq for the neighborhood. You occasionally see deer family walking in yards you don’t bother them they won’t bother you."
  • Lisa
"Friendly and quiet. Lots of kids around. Local shopping plaza close by. Great elementary and middle high school. "
  • Sunnywag1643
"I’ve lived here for 32 years. Turnover is low. It’s a great safe place to raise kids. They can walk to school and soccer field or can ride the school bus which is the last stop in the morning and the first in the afternoon. "
  • Sarahlockestewart
"Safe, quiet, friendly neighborhood near SMMHS and Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club. On the front side of Signal Mountain near CVS and other amenities. Love this neighborhood "
  • Jennifer
"We are new here, from Chicago, and it’s so special. Such nice people, and a slower pace with quaint stores and restaurants. "
  • Miacatsmith
"I come here often to visit family and my father lived here for a good amount of time during his childhood. I believe that Signal Mountain is a quaint, safe community to live in."
  • Thfoster
"Great place to raise a family. Very safe and close to everything. Two thumbs up!"
  • T T.
"Many Expensive Homes providing a Tax Base for parks and recreation without costing the average home owner a bundle. Excellent police and fire protection for low insurance costs. The public schools are among the best in Tennessee (please do your own research) and the private schools are just short drive down the mountain. Walmart is 10 minutes away, but a local grocery store is minutes away. McDonalds and other places to eat on the mountain with a fitness center to work off the meal. Family and Retiree Friendly place to live, but likely not enough excitement for the younger single crowd."
