8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a life changer for my daughter. The system is efficient and the staff are remarkable. They really work with the children by meeting them where they are at and have so much professionalism and compassion. They could use an update on the tardy/late system to make it easier to do from the app or via phone call without the unexcused absence announcement in the system being delayed but other than that I have nothing but great things to say.Parent Review4mo ago38 Reviews - James Island Charter High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWow. I’m only in my third year and have a lot to say regarding this school. While this school offers a great variety of different career path opportunities, classes, college credits, they don’t care much about their students. The school culture SUCKS and the pep rallies are BORING! The attendance policy is horrendous. The only notes they accept attendance wise is doctor/court notes to be fully excused and exempted but even then your teachers will still expect you to get all your work caught up. Next thing, the administration and guidance department wow! Please note if you attend this school that your counselor will try to act like they know things revolving mental health but they don’t! They lack degrees to interact with students as if they’re therapists. They don’t even give time to the students like they should to help them figure out college. Reporting crimes and caring about the safety of their students overall they don’t do to keep their reputation good. There’s still more to say.Student Review4mo ago7 Reviews - Camp Road Middle

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis evening we had a game against camp road middle and I have to say, the players and children attending this game and school had the absolute WORST sportsmanship I have ever witnessed. The way the children heckled all players during the entire game and rude things they said to the other players was just plain uncalled for. Or was apparent that this sort of behavior is supported by the parents coaches and school and was really disappointing and sad to see. I feel sorry for younger children attending any games there as they will witness just ignorance and be discourage from wanting to even play sports. I’m positive more parents will be reaching out with the same concerns.Other Review3mo ago17 Reviews - Check out schools near 1984 Folly Rd #111.

"Friendly family oriented community. Lovely fun and caring neighbors. I am looking to retire down here someday. "

"There are many reactive dogs on leash and in fenced yards next to sidewalks. Some people walk dogs off leash. There is a dog park. Some owners do not respect people’s yards and some owners do not collect their dog’s waste."

"Best location to live in Charleston. Traffic is always going the other direction in AM and PM from you no matter where you commute."

"We’re tight with our neighbors but don’t do “neighborhood cook outs”. Or weird HOA things. It’s a chill, respect each other kind of neighborhood "

"Congested. Poor quality roads. Streets are one-way because people park their multiple cars on the street rather than on their driveway. Too many speeders and big trucks."

"Declining neighborhood. No HOA enforcement, too many rentals. If the covenants were enforced the property values would increase dramatically."

"There is alot of love in Charleston, the infrastructure is small and basic, it is not equipped for the large number of people that have migrated here and crowd our roads. With the traffic ad bad as it is now, you can give up that No. 1 city in America to live in. Really though, this town still amazes me. I can't think of anywhere that I would rather be."
