9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCalabasas High School, and the LVS district, did a great job educating our three children. We could not afford private schools, moved into the school district because of the past record of being a good public school system. and have no regrets, only thanks to the schools our children attended. All three participated in team sports and admittedly were average or below average compared to their teammates, yet in retrospect enjoyed the discipline they learned from being on a team sport. One participated in the music program and got to play at the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival! Some took Advanced Placement course which did help prepare them of college. Two went to UCs, one went to CSU. All graduated college. They all still have good character friends from LVS schools they attended, which is one of the best outcomes. None of our children were part of the "in crowd", but they learned to seek out the quality teachers, found friends that did not smoke or do drugs. You have to instill the values you want them to have way before high school. As parents, we set the example.... do we walk the talk, or not. It begins with us. Don't just tell your kids, "just be themselves"... tell them to be " the best version of themselves and make friends who are striving to do the same."Parent Review2y ago17 Reviews - Chaparral Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageChaparral is an incredible school. The teachers are dedicated to the students and community. The strong parents association helps to support the teachers and administrators year round to cultivate a love of learning and provide additional resources when needed. The school focuses on the "whole student" growth mindset which is awesome. Chaparral has specialists for PE, music and art, as well as a media clerk. There are opportunities for parent involvement and a high level of ongoing communication to parents from the teachers and staff. This is a fabulous school!Parent Review4y ago10 Reviews - Alice C. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been in this school for two years and recently graduated. I’m very pleased with my experience at this school and I had a very good time there. At first, it was rough and I didn’t have friends but most of the kids here are friendly and the staff and administrators are super kind and helpful. The teachers are excellent and care about the students and their success. This school isn’t very big and there aren’t too many students so, for me, who can’t stand big spaces and areas this school was perfect for me. I do not understand any of the negative reviews and are very much the opposite from what I experienced. I have a 504 plan as I am an individual with ADH: and most of the teachers respected that and gave me more time for my assignments. I love the community a lot as well and it has a very positive vibe. Overall, an excellent school and I highly recommend.Student Review1y ago13 Reviews - Check out schools near 26050-26050 Mulholland Hwy.

"I wouldn’t say it’s too quiet. We have 3 lvusd public schools practically down the street. It’s the perfect kid neighborhood! We have the Santa Monica mountains as our backyard, hence rent is high. Also, there has been a break-in on our street :/ Other than that...great street parking, friendly neighbors, and pet friendly area."

"I drive 30 miles each way. I leave my home before 5am to avoid the heavy traffic. At that time traffic is very light. In the afternoon I try to leave the office at 2:30. Every minute after that seems to add 5 minutes to the drive. Stressful. "
