2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAlthough Tara High school is nestled in a nice Suburbian neighborhood it is one of the worst schools I could have possibly sent my son to. Staff is either too lazy or overworked but I’d say the latter. Seems like staff does not like to do their work and gets annoyed when asked to do so. My son currently attends Tara high and I’ve have a few problems with the staff not doing their job. My son has also stated to me plenty of times that he isn’t challenged academically not to mention the school is so run down not sure how it’s still standing. Unfortunately, I was forced to send my child to this school because this is the only high school within the area I live. With that being said this past week a few issues have been brought to light that has ultimately made me make the decision to pull my son out & be homeschooled. This past week was the week of the national student walk out for gun control and out of all the schools across America that participated in the walk out Tara high didn’t allow students to exercise the right. The principal decides to pull the fire alarm at the same exact time the walk out was to occur. In her words she “didn’t want to deal with all the commotion” Word of advice if you can avoid it Do Not Send Your Child To This School by all means.Parent Review8y ago7 Reviews - Westdale Middle School

"This is my second year, BR is super busy with cars, students on the road. Like the outdoor feeling with woods/trees and water behind me."

"Not a lot of traffic in the morning or evening. Buses are available but most streets only have a shoulder to walk on."

"Lots of traffic, difficult to cross the major local highway. When empty, crossing is a breeze. Accessible to the South-Central portion of Baton Rouge."

"This is great neighborhood for a families and it is also pet friendly. It’s very peaceful and the property is well kept. It is in a very convenient location for stores. Also the area is very convenient for any family members attending school at LSU or Southern University. "

"It’s an investor subdivision with a lot of rentals for college kids, but I have started to see families just starting out moving in because of the quietness and off the beaten path yet accessible to many things"

"Rent is reasonable. The neighborhood is quiet, and we have a lake in our backyard. We’re far from heavy traffic and right off Nicholson. I love living here. "

"The neighborhood is very quiet. It's also beautiful and maintained well. The area is up and coming and has a lot of growth of businesses in the area, including a sports complex amd restaurant being built right next to the neighborhood. Best of all, there are already three parks in a five mile radius. The area is also very pet friendly. "
