5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm a former student from Barstow High. I went there for both freshman and sophomore year. Now, the teachers at BHS are actually great people they do everything in the hands to send us students and prepare us for college. Always a positive attitude and all the are always willing to help whether on the class or during after school. Now, I feel with the people in the office should do their job better along with librarians heads up these librarians are rude and petty women I would suggest to stay honestly never try to talk to them unless it's an emergency like a book check but anything else just listen to them and everything should be fine but yeah I would suggest getting better people in the office and indeed better librarians. Now, on looks it's not the best it's very old but mostly everything works but one thing stay away from the water fountains and make sure to bring you're own water bottle. Now with students mostly everything good but honestly most will treat like you're invisible if for some reason you ain't popular but for new students there always up to meet them and make new friends with them but make sure you know who you're hanging with because kids aren't the best some are involved in gangs or do drugs in the bathrooms. Also one the school is very safe the monitors and teachers are always on point with behavior and fights that go on here. So, in summary it's not a bad school when it comes to education but just remember it's fairly small so we don't have many classes. Through, we do have many clubs and sports and many you make a lot of friends in them so I would suggest joining some. Also, this school offers trips so keep an eye on them. So, once again it's not a bad school but it could be better such as new administration, food, water, and better control of the school but if you other choices to go to or can move out the town I'd rather move quickly and if it ain't going well for your kid don't lose hope try out the other schools in the area such as Excelsior Charter, Riverside Prep, or Silver Valley High. Also, stay away from Central High!!Student Review6y ago4 Reviews - Lenwood Elementary School

"Tons of space if you choose to live here, for your dog to run around. But be mindful that there are many loose dogs so always make sure if you have livestock or small animals, that your fences have no holes and are reinforced. "

"The commute is good. Mostly senior citizens. So take your time. Not that much traffic until 4/5 when everybody is trying to get home. Out of 10 I'd say it's a 8. Thank you"

"Apple valley has successfully wiped out all of the history in our town. The town used to be a great place to live but it has gone down hill for sure"

"Nothing unique! The city doesn't want to address problem, they just like to tear down historical buildings. The police don't show up when you call, especially for loud parties after midnight or fireworks being shot off at all hours of the night, even though they are illegal here and a huge fire risk"

"We are remote rural, it's almost a mile to main highway. Too far to walk. But just a short drive. Hot in the summer - over 100 and really cold in the winter, in the 30's at night! "

"I’ve lived here for eight years and have enjoyed every one. Great location. Near Big Bear, and well on your way to Las Vegas. Newport Beach is ninety minutes away, and LA an hour. Area still has room for growth so it isn’t crowded, and the planning seems to be accounting well for population expansion."
