2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFrankly I can say this in a heartbeat that I’m not at all surprised that there are people who move and how understaffed this school is I remember in 9th grade I felt unsafe in band and the band director was so hostile that I was glad I left Band I also am saying this as I can say 10th grade was ok but much better and 11th grade was calmer and so was 12th grade but the main problem is also staff have been under appreciated and some can be vile to students and students can be vile as well and I’m saying this as I feel like it’s a shame that the good teachers leaving who I became friends with left due to unsafe behavior and the idea of a strictness for say attendance is not a good look for anyone at all I’m honestly just saying that I would recommend being strict about safety of others students and staff alikeOther Review5mo ago15 Reviews - Baty Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy first grade special needs daughter was sexually assaulted on a playground by a classmate while two TA's were present but not supervising in December 2021. Conveniently cameras were not operational due to construction, they felt it was unsafe for the cameras but safe enough for the kids. Did you know they have their own school Police Dept? They refused to accept responsibility for the case despite APD contacting them to let them know it was their jurisdiction. When they finally did accept the case they lied to me saying they would do what was best for the kids. They meant best for themselves. They swept it under the rug. The Chief had the nerve to tell me it was up to me if I wanted an investigation. The social worker for the school told me she would give us resources and then 3 months later apologized for never keeping the meeting. My daughter experienced horrendous mental anguish being kept in the same classroom as the boy who assaulted her because his rights were not to be violated educationally by being placed in another class. She was also forced to have to control her angry betrayed feelings towards the TA's that let it happen for the remainder of the year. I also received an anonymous out of state text message chiding me on my daughter's absences and told I would receive a letter regarding absences which never came and the number could not be substantiated as affiliated with DVISD and no information was ever provided to me by the Superintendent when I wrote to them about these issues past changes had taken place with Staff. I regret not filing a lawsuit and I think everyone should know what happened. It has been 3 years and my child never returned there after that school year but it is not erased and I don't have confidence that DVISD dealt with it appropriately because I didn't go public.Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews - John P Ojeda Junior High School

"I do no know . People walk their dogs no problem. The dogs are friendly. Totally normal and safe. People also pick up after their dogs"

"There’s parks and trails nearby which is nice for your dog. The River is about 1-2 miles walk down the road as well. "

"Lived here for 3 years. It’s affordable and as long as you find a spot that isn’t right off of Riverside, the crime and unsightly homeless camps will mostly be avoidable. Wouldn’t recommend for families but 20 somethings can make this area work for sure."

"Flooded with tons of homeless living in tents along Pleasant Valley and Riverside. They have taken over the once decent looking grassy knolls in front of the HEB- think trailer park but only with tents. "

"It’s not safe to walk your dog around here. Also the sidewalks aren’t well maintained so your dog could potentially eat or step in something unsafe"

" I've lived here for 6 years and its been a pretty good experience. Close to grocery stores, music events, restaurants, and my work. So we have been blessed. We also live in the nicest apartment complex in this area. All a testament to Gods faithfulness to us."

"This place was good the first year was here in August 2010-August 2011 however over the past few months i have noticed it has gone down hill in a very bad way i have had stuff stolen off my balcony (i live on the second floor) and i heard a gunshot in the courtyard last week....LIVE HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK"
