2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFrankly I can say this in a heartbeat that I’m not at all surprised that there are people who move and how understaffed this school is I remember in 9th grade I felt unsafe in band and the band director was so hostile that I was glad I left Band I also am saying this as I can say 10th grade was ok but much better and 11th grade was calmer and so was 12th grade but the main problem is also staff have been under appreciated and some can be vile to students and students can be vile as well and I’m saying this as I feel like it’s a shame that the good teachers leaving who I became friends with left due to unsafe behavior and the idea of a strictness for say attendance is not a good look for anyone at all I’m honestly just saying that I would recommend being strict about safety of others students and staff alikeOther Review5mo ago15 Reviews - Smith Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter was there for two years, the academic requirement is good, they are bilingual and they attend to both languages equally, the activities at the school are adorable... The social skills of some teachers and field staff need to be worked on. But academically it seemed good to me compared to other schools in Austin that have very good scores which they do not deserve, such as Steiner Ranch and Summitt.Parent Review2y ago8 Reviews - John P Ojeda Junior High School

"Interesting residential and commercial blend in neighborhood. Near highways, so easy travel. Multiple bus lines to get all over city. Grocery stores and restaurants are kind of walkable (~30 min), but a car would be better. Mabel Davis Park is beautiful."

"Smaller yards, Parker lane and oltorf are busy streets and people speed often. A lot of other dogs, often off leash, tend to roam the surrounding neighborhoods. However, Mabel Davis park right now the street is a beautiful trail and close to Roy Guerrero, and entrances to green belt"

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for a few months. It’s pretty quiet, the people are friendly but keep to themselves mainly. There is a nice park nearby."

"It's not a bad area, but it certainly has some rough spots. Lots of sirens, and it's a bit busy. But it's a good location in comparison to downtown and has a lot of different businesses within a mile. "

"We are an established Austin neighborhood. Both of my neighbors have lived here for over twenty years. I go to Mable Davis park with my family all the time. My kids love it."

"Any and all of the community events make the neighborhoods special. They bring so many people, younger and older, together. Many different nationalities amass to celebrate each other’s lives and the many diverse cultures and beliefs. "

"I’ve let bed in this neighborhood for three and a half years and I love it. It’s close to 35, Mopac, 290 and one exit from downtown. My neighbors are wonderful and everyone looks out for each other and are all very friendly good folks. I love the area."

"Super close to downtown while still being affordable. So many houses being flipped and a really nice and large selection of apartments. I would recommend living here! "

"Well established neighborhood so close to downtown you can be there in 5-8 minutes. Great greenbelt and skate park."

"This area is quickly changing. Antones and Emo's have now moved over to East Riverside. I think this area will be the new music and entertainment area for Austinites who want to be away from tourists and conventioneers. "
