6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePatton Elementary is an incredible school that has grown and evolved significantly over the years, becoming a cornerstone of West Oak Hill’s rapidly improving community. As the neighborhood transforms and attracts new families, the positive impact on the school has been remarkable. With property values rising and tax dollars flowing into local schools, Patton has benefitted greatly, becoming a hub for parents who prioritize education and community. One of the standout aspects of Patton Elementary is its phenomenal staff. Over the last two years, I’ve witnessed a shift in teacher engagement and dedication. The faculty here go above and beyond, fostering an environment where students not only learn but thrive. The curriculum is innovative and enriching, tailored to encourage curiosity and critical thinking, which has been a huge draw for families moving into the area. The staff is warm, approachable, and committed to creating a nurturing space for children, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way. What sets Patton apart even more is the changing demographic of West Oak Hill. As the area becomes more sought after, it’s bringing in amazing families who are invested in their children’s success and the school’s progress. Over the last two years, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting incredible parents who share a passion for education and community building. These connections have been one of the highlights of my time here, and it’s bittersweet now that my son has graduated.Year after year, I’ve seen noticeable progress at Patton. Post-pandemic, the school has made tremendous strides in creating a positive and effective learning environment. From the quality of programs to the upgraded facilities, everything seems to be moving in the right direction. It’s heartening to know that this school is a place where children are encouraged to reach their potential, supported by engaged teachers and like-minded families. If you’re considering West Oak Hill, Patton Elementary is a shining example of why this area is worth investing in. The combination of a growing, vibrant community and a school that consistently improves makes this neighborhood a fantastic choice for families. Highly recommend both the school and the area—it’s a place where education and community truly come together.Parent Review1y ago19 Reviews - Bowie High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are a parent considering this school, please read this carefully. My son was part of the wrestling program, and the emotional and physical treatment he received from the coaching staff caused long-lasting harm. The environment was extremely unhealthy, and several students—including my son—experienced humiliation, unsafe weight-cutting demands, and psychological pressure far beyond what is acceptable for teenagers. The coach routinely pushed students to gain and lose weight rapidly, made degrading comments about their masculinity, and used intimidation instead of guidance. Promises were made to motivate them, only to be withdrawn later in a way that damaged their confidence and emotional stability. This was not discipline. This was emotional abuse and negligence from adults who should have been protecting our children.Years later, my son is still dealing with the consequences of the trauma he experienced there. He is not the only one—other former students have privately shared similar stories.Schools should be safe.Coaches should build character, not break it.I hope this review encourages the administration to evaluate how students are being treated and to ensure no other child goes through what mine did.Other Review5mo ago16 Reviews - Small Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePros: teachers are highly qualified and have engaging lessons, the office staff are phenomenal, the band program is strongCons: Due to negligent admin, the school has a violence and substance problem. Students in 6th grade get beaten up regularly and their aggressors get a 2 day holiday which only teaches them to keep doing what they are doing. The classes are about 30+ students per class and there are several classes that have broken air conditioning and the school doesn't have the money for repair. The report card looks great. I predict that the new administration's lack of positive leadership and dismissal of school safety will cause problems in the near future. I gave two stars because I guess it could be worse.Parent Review1mo ago18 Reviews - Check out schools near Pinto Cv.

"Getting in and out of the Y at Oak Hill can be quite frustrating at peak times but once you get past that the traffic is not too bad. I generally take SW Pkwy to get into town."

"This area is close to Hwy 290, William Cannon, Mopac, and Circle C which means you can get anywhere quick. Circle C is expanding with new stores and restaurants, including Alamo Drafthouse. The 'Y' in Oak Hill is also expanding to accomodate the growing population. If you love having an Austin address but want an out of town feel, this is the best place for it. You just can't go wrong with this area!"

"We moved in to this area for the excellent schools and the perfect location. Only 6 mi to Barton Creek Mall, 8 miles to downtown, 3 miles from Loop 1, and the grocery store only 2 miles away. We can walk or bike to our son's elementary school as well fabulous restaurants and shops. . We love it!"
